Wow some fans are so spoiled....by the best band the world has ever heard. Imagine trying to follow some of the material they've created in the past. I actually appreciate this song here because it's different and something new. As artists, it's gotta be hard to keep writing new music for as long as DMB has, let alone tour. So grateful for this band and so many of the fans too. The world is literally a better place with DMB

I guess 439 people don't appreciate hearing one of the greatest Lyricist of our time go back in the studio and just have a good time and make a fun song purely out of their love for music.

This is brilliant. First of all, Dave's vocals are number one here. We are blessed with his ability to sing different and perhaps "not good" and this is when the magic happens. He is telling a story. Put on some headphones and listen to all of the pieces and parts. Again, it's pretty magical.

This band has challenged me for 20 years, with each album. Every time they drop a new one there are a few tunes that grow on me over time. Their music is in a constant fluctuation between tasteful complexity and utter simplicity, and as a musician I can appreciate that dichotomy. People complained about Everyday, they complained that their favorite tunes weren't on Busted Stuff, they took issue with Stand Up for almost every track, people liked Big Whiskey a little more (even though they complained about the name at first), and generally people liked AFTW, even though many still complained about Mercy incessantly. The fact is this: DMB has always pushed their fans' buttons, and I'm glad they continue to do so. I'm looking forward to cracking this album open.

My first listen, I was skeptical and actually pretty averse to the uneven tones he uses here, but then I listened to it a second time, third time, again and again (no pun intended), and I love, love, love this song. Still making great music. What an album!

Damn that’s a lot of dislikes coming from Dave fans...that being said, I actually like this more than anything from the last album. I like the absurdity of it.

Time looses all its power 20 years ago seems like yesterday. Pretty funky. I can dig it. It's not something I typically expect from my dudes, but it's different enough to be appreciated. I highly advise people complaining about this song to do some review of what's gone on with the band in the last decade. Is it that big a deal that they're trying different things? Is it not okay for their sound to evolve with time? Sure, it's fine if you grow tired of it and just aren't into it anymore, but to shit on them because they aren't the magnum opus of the late 90's is just crass. I'd consider this a treat to those who don't get to see the band live. Dave's wacky, and humorously pitchy vocals is a testament to the live shows. He's free-wheeling it with a beat, and it turned out to sound pretty groovy. This seems like it was meant to be just that, a break from the usual that is short, sweet, just punchy enough to be a head-bobber, and in my estimation, a segue to a great follow-on song. Thumbs up!

Listened to the entire album and this track stood out. Sure it doesnt tick the boxes for a radio hit but it got my pulse racing and gave me chills.

Guys... this is what Dave sounds like all the time! Obviously whoever is caught off guard doesn't listen to live recordings much. I like the less edited sound! It sounds different, but still great!

I hate that people are still complaining! Be happy they are even putting out new music let alone still touring for us! Be happy because most bands that were around in the 90’s aren’t touring or even together anymore! 🙄

You critics just stop listening. If you don't stop....then at least agree to return in 6 months and comment on how much you love this song after you've given it a chance. They've all got more money than they could ever spend. They are doing their very best job they can....to put out great music....for the sake of great music. This band will go down in history.

Apparently I'm the only DMB fan here. Thank you so much for coming to Washington! I have been to tons of concerts and up until Wednesday night Phish at the gorge and 311 at red rocks had always held top spot. You sir have replaced both as the best fucking show I have ever been to! I will definitely be seeing DMB in the near future.

There's something primitive about this little tune that I like. The groove and guitar riff are both nice, though I think a Jeff Coffin flute or penny whistle solo could have complemented it nicely. I've listened to a lot of Dave's music in my life, but this is the first time he's ever reminded me of Tom Waits. I think this could grow on me.

Remember the vibe that away from the world had? That album was way softer than any of their stuff before. This song, and oh joy begin, is lyrically strategic, soft but also gritty enough to be Dave Matthews Band. I'm very excited for the rest of the album and I'm very thankful for them not just falling into the rustic theme of modern alternative that was originally made popular by bands like this one. As someone who has enjoyed every song they've produced since the day I was born, this one is no exception.

I fell in love with this song and "She" when I first heard them. To the people who don't like this song I'm perplexed because there are so many beautiful things about this song that I love and the melody is beautiful. It kinda makes me think some people either don't have good taste or maybe just closed minded. I'm sure there were people who didn't like The Stone at first and look at how glorious that song is today. I just don't understand how people could say they don't like his work when he's an amazing artist at pretty much everything he does in life. Some people just don't realize what's good when it's put in front of them and that's a loss. All I could think about when I first heard this song was dancing with a beautiful skirt on and feeling beautiful. I absolutely love it and I'm so thankful he put the hard work and love into bringing this song to life.

I like this one a lot! Some of the newer songs have been just okay for me upon first listen, then grew on me, but I loved this one right away. Simple song with slightly African dance-y vibe and some great vocals.

My GOD this song was SO PERFECT to use when Homer starts dancing with Marge. I honestly think that is the most romantic display and music to use for that scene. It honestly is beginning to bring tears to my eyes as I am typing this thinking about it.

My kuerig was making a coffee while i was playing this song, and the clicky clacky noise it makes was perfectly in-sync with this song. Too fun

Definitely has that 'Some Devil' vibe which is nice. Will take a few more listens to appreciate though. Very different, but it has potential.

Can't believe people are complaining the vocals are 'too raw'. Raw vocals is what's so great about it. Having imperfections in your recording is what's exciting. Music isn't perfect. It's filled with angst and it's moody and unpredictable. People like distortion, noise, and raw vocals because the feel is there. What did you want him to do, autotune it T-pain style with some chipmunk delays?

I can see why the first reaction would be to criticize this, or that, in a world where everything is programmed to the Millisecond, every vocal auto-tuned. This is a statement and I personally loved it! It’s a journey, it’s raw, it’s honest and it’s REAL. Dave is finally back onto something. Perfect imperfection.

Don’t like it? Like anything else in the world turn your cheek and move on. Me? Ive been a fan since the very beginning and its 100% Dave and I love it!

Everyone keeps saying that Batson ruined this track, yet he had nothing to do with it - it was produced by Rob Evans. I personally like this track after having listened to it several times, and the weird vocals are what make it unique. It’s different.

The vocal performance in that song may be the best display of abandon Dave’s ever put on record. Genius. Kind of Radiohead-esque: take something that could be received as ugly at first glance and turn it into something beautiful. But how he “let’s go” in this song is what moves me the most. That takes guts. The fact that it works out is poetic justice. Gives me chills. Then to see the video of him pulling it off live is impressive too. Now, if he’s gotten so good that when he recorded the studio version that vocal, it was well-planned and rehearsed, it kills some of the magic, but it shows how adept he’s become at his craft. If they’re just making it SEEM spontaneous, they did w masterful job of it. Either way, of the 3 recordings released pre-album, it’s my favorite. And that’s saying alot, because the lyrics in “Samurai Cop” are tremendous, and the composition and vocals in “Again and Again” are superb, world class vocals, to a level Dave wasn’t capable of in 1996 or 1999 or 2008, not to mention the fact that Tim and Carter and Stefan are cooking on that song. I keep thinking I’m going to “outgrow“ DMB, but they keep growing, too, and that’s saying something for a band that’s been together nearly nonstop for over 25 years.

Sing it with the boyz and then you'll love it for sure, that raw emotion in the voice, get it Dave!
