What's beautiful about this, is that this is the first time his music goes from sorrowful to truly happy. And you hear that break when he thinks of her and how shes truky the first person hes met in a while who doesn't care that he went to jail. She doesnt see him as a criminal. And that gives him hope, which you can hear in that little change. Opal just represents true kindness in this film. She gives the credit to winn Dixie, but its really the love in her heart that heals the loneliness of all those people she met. In fact, it was her kindness and protection of winn Dixie that kept him from going to the pound. Her desire to help people not feel lonely is a thing of our beauty.

After all these years, this song still warms my heart. My teacher had us read the book and watch the movie. Elementary school was really tough, but this story was my favorite part of fifth grade. Now as a 27 year old this song still makes me tear up. ❤
