Archive #38 goes back to 2009 when Megadeth released their twelfth studio album "Endgame".
"Endgame" marked a return to the thrashier elements of the band and I still consider it to this day to be the best Megadeth record since the band went back from the hiatus due to Mustaine's arm injury (and probably their best record since "Youthanasia").
Unfortunately, Megadeth never really supported "Endgame" on tour as the band celebrated the 20th anniversary of the classic "Rust In Peace" by playing it in its entirety with David Ellefson back in the band only some month after its release date and then there was also the Big 4 tour with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, but it's a great record nonetheless.
I had the chance to talk to Dave Mustaine about "Endgame" and Dave also gave me several stories about Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover (who were Megadeth members at the time), about some of Megadeth past producers, the meaning behind the songs "Addicted To Chaos" and "The Hardest Part of Letting Go... Sealed with a Kiss".
By the way, Dave Mustaine refers in this interview about being divorced from Pamela Mustaine and I want to insist on the fact this interview was done in september 2009 as the couple was probably going into some turmoil, which happens in a long relationship, but as far as I know, they reconciled not too long after this interview was done and are still happily married since. Just want to make it clear as it's no news but a snapshot from 11 years ago.
