@@metalhammer5he really isn’t though. He isn’t know as a guitar virtuoso he’s better at lead but not good enough to be considered one of the great soloists. James is hands down the best lead player where even solo guys like me love watching a rhythm player and that’s rare

James Hetfield is a better frontman and vocalist; Dave Mustaine is a better guitarist, no question. The real debate is who is a better songwriter and that is pretty subjective... well I guess it all is, but I feel pretty confident that most people would agree with the above assessment.

To me , Dave is better guitarist , better song writter, . James is better vocalist, more energetic, better crowd control.

James is for sure better downpicker and Dave composes more complex riffs but in comparison with James, he doesn't use so much downpicking. Both are great 👍

Dave has a technical left hand while James has a brutal right hand. Both are great. They both gave us amazing music. But it is James all day for me. Brutal right hand.
