It's amusing how people in the bodybuilding industry bellyache all the time about how they don't get press like mainstream sports do, and then things like this happen. A few years back when I was a reporter at WBUR in Boston, I asked for a press pass to the Jay Cutler Classic. Steve Weinberger said to me, "Why do I need press? The show is already sold." Imagine if the NFL said the same thing.

Competitive bodybuilding is a joke which sucks . 350 dollars holy shit! Plus if u when a pro card another what? Few hundred more? Plus tan , hotel, food , drugs, airfare. To win zero dollars . How sad

By this promoter (Steve Karel) hindering you (and others) from videoing and broadcasting about the event it only hurts the NPC, it's competitors, and it's ability to promote shows. What you do is informative and informational to everyone that follows the sport. You've been covering bodybuilding shows (of all kinds) for decades. For them to kick you out just shows what %*(#*@) these guys are. They should show you a little respect Dave. You've earned it and the fans who enjoying your coverage deserve it too! YES, BRING IN PROMOTERS WHO ACTUALLY PROMOTE NPC SHOWS! Stop living in the 80's....this is 2017.

I had press passes for the Arnold Classic TEN times and never had one problem. I could come and go as I please and could interview anyone at practically any time. If I had a question they were respectful and HELPFUL!! Keep fighting the good fight Dave!!!

Absolutely agree Dave. Don't always agree wtih all your views, however appreciate a variety of perspectives on given topics, events and shows. Always appreciate hearing your perspective and views regardless of if i happen to agree with it or not. Will often watch 4-5 different outlets coverage of a given show or event. End of the day it all promotes the show and atheletes themselves and gives each of them more coverage. The dinosaurs will either change with the times or follow suit with natural selection! Keep up the good work!

This is the same thing that happened in Nova Scotia when i was competing in 2009. now the bodybuilding part of the competition is down to about 40% of what it used to be because of the family not allowing to take videos and no press. People were so pissed many left the show soon as the person they came to see was off stage.. You nailed it.. it comes down to Greed.. plain and simple.. Cheers Dave

I've been watching Dave's channel more and more and love the videos. They only get better. When I worked for a major supp company as a territory rep in FL, I use to always see Dave come around to the booths for live coverage. He's truly a hustler and keeps his professionalism. Keep pushing Dave, don't mind these guys who won't adapt to the new age. Same thing happened to Kit Sanderson MDLatino. You guys are great.

I was told to stop live streaming the Olympia Press conference with my phone, and even though it's BS because it's a freaking press conference do they even know what that means ?! I still complied and respected their wishes.

Dave I absolutely agree with everything you said about the show about the show. I myself competed and for me to pay for a video is outrageous after all the cost there is just going into the show. This is a new era and 80% of the promoters do not understand that. why do you think we have blow up so much is because we take advantage of what the NPC in general is not using the real tools out there to get exposure.

I do find it odd that Palumbo was thrown out. It's not like he's just some person off the street. The man has a solid platform and history in bodybuilding. I wonder if Dave's suspicions of foul play in Piana's death has something to do with all of this bullshit happening to him all of a sudden?

It's just greed and lack of perspective. It's a huge incentive for amateurs to enter a show and see themselves blow up all over social media when they place well... If you have a media blackout you deny them that. Not to mention social media is FREE marketing and advertising for the event! It's nonsensical to stop people having access.

Here is my understanding and analysis. Dave was kicked out simply because he was told strong enough not to cover by Steve.. then Dave went behind His back to Manion and got clearance.. i assume steve didn't know about dave and manion arrangement therefore assumed dave ignoring him and doing it anyway thats why Steve may have felt offended and asked dave out. I agree with dave about coverage idea etc ..

Dave’s side is obvious but objectively speaking.. the Ferigno show dominated my said feed this weekend and knew exactly who the winners were quickly. Miami show noooooot so much. So I’m terms of reason for change coverage I completely agree.
