It’s simple business my friends, the demographic of Barstool was originally 20-30 year old guys that like sports and busting each other’s balls. If Mean Girls adds to the demographic of the Call Her Daddy ladies, then Barstool makes more money, he’s far too deep into the history of Barstool, to not want to expand. Dave is 100% worried after Bri said she was upset at coworkers. That and his 2020 ptsd. But he sucked here. Klemmer is a baby for being upset and should have just said “it pissed me off when people act better than everyone and don’t come to the office, then make jokes like that”. Shout out to Klemmer, I think he’s made this great content and Dave should thank him. I had no idea who the mean girls were before he started the drama.
Dave said it multiple times in this episode that there is no way for people to come back from this type of public accusation. This is about how he was falsely portrayed by business insider and how it still comes up all of the time to haunt him. A very real problem for him and it is understandable for him to be sensitive to their situation. The difference here though is that Klemmer was not purposely trying to ruin their reputation. There is no malice. Klemmer just reacted to an inappropriate video as he lost some coworkers to layoffs.
