Hey there good people! Today's song was suggested by Muse Muser, Kapow, Camp Life bushcraft, Erich Kadow and EK. Thanks for the interesting suggestion everyone!
P.s. In contrast to Dave, the weird bits in Radiohead’s music are by far my favourite bits…..and I’m a roaring Metalhead. But then, I’m quite weird myself…..
I think logic suggests the market for weirdness is a lot larger than anyone at record companies thought. We're all weird Dave! Bowie, The Doors, Pink Floyd are all pretty damn weird and popular.
The thing I respect about Radiohead is this song is so dynamic that it could have been 3 or 4 songs, and instead they decided to blow 3 or 4 potential full-song structures into just one song. Incredibly sophisticated music right here.
Both this and Creep were singles and this went higher on the UK chart than Creep did (mostly cos it's better but also cos the British public can never stop pining for Bohemian Rhapsody)
Pryamid Song! Explain to Dave please as he’s a music connoisseur: It has a time signature of 16/4 subdivided into 3+2+3 twice, making the bars line up with the musical pyramid shape. If you count 3+2+3 twice, you will find that the piano changes notes with you as you make your way to the top of the pyramid and back down again. It’s the auditory equivalent of Picasso or Andy Warhol!
@@samechick awesome! National Anthem is mind blowing with the original Horn players joining in - so snl , live at the bbc and Colbert may be the only Ones you find - Dave is gonna be like “what the fu**” it’s alt rock meets free Jazz when captured live the right way most don’t know How to take it
the story goes as follows Paranoid Android is a reference to Douglas Adams Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy books and film of the robot Marvin who was a paranoid android but they had to be careful due to copyrights and done a very well good job to its reference of human beings killing each other.
Here it is, Dave's reaction to Derev's Futile ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kR7LCu_GLDI.html Thanks once again for the great suggestion!
Apologies if it's already been suggested, but if you prefer their heavier sound you should listen to The National Anthem from the album Kid A. It's a doozy.
