We could tell Dave had been singing this one for a while. He's got some great new songs but some of his older ones like this'un just get stronger with age....like cheese...or wine. It was wonderful to have him and his lovely wife Melissa come spend some time with us and share the beauty of this Western life, distilled through the heart and mind of the greatest cowboy entertainer working today.
I messed up the connection to the mixer, so the audio is just from the camera's mic. and of course, for backup singing the audience here can't hold a candle to the ladies in this video: • Cowboy Singer Dave Sta...

I'm sitting here in tears, wondering why this particular video gets to me so much. I MADE IT, yet as I edited and re-mixed it, hearing the audience singing along kept tugging at my heart. That's the essence, the juice of why I absolutely LOVE live, intimate music like house concerts. Dave is an absolute genius and a consummate performer, and a very genuine good guy. To be able to sing WITH him is deep magic. I urge you to be part of this beauty, in my home or somewhere else.

EM-D all through the verse, then C-D-Em in the chorus, finally on the word "back" B7-Em, then back to the verse.

ooops-- the final refrain has a couple of G's: (G) ooo (D) ooo (C) Oh, the (D) night is falling (Em) ooo (D) ooo (C) Oh, the (D) them cattle calling (C) Hot, Dry and (D) wind-blown country (Em) calling me.. ................ That (C) horse, she's like good (D) whiskey, (G) make me tired and (Em) sore, and I'm (Am) not no use for wand'rin' any_ (D) more (B7)

It's actually "bad horses, work, and whiskey"

can anyone find the actual chords to this song

He's fingering Em, but because it's capo'd up 2 frets, the actual key is F#m, so to play the exact pitches it would be verses F#m-E, chorus D-E-F#m one C# and back.
