"Shooter" reminds me so much of something Childish would go hard af on, especially with those early Childish analogies. So fucking good, but damn I wish we could've gotten this colab. Need that shit like a Kendrick/Cole album 😫😫😫
I can just imagine Jefferson saying: "do you remember Lafayette?" And Hamilton says "Lafayette is a smart man." Then Jefferson pulls his hair into a pony tail and Hamilton is like WHEEZE
A civics lesson from a slaver? Hey neighbor - your debts are paid 'cuz you don't pay for labor. "We plant seeds in the South, we create." Yeah, keep ranting. We know who's REALLY doing the planting.
The song is about rapper stereotypes and he has this big existential crisis/break down and is swarmed with thoughts and emotions about his career and defines him as a rapper. It’s actually really deep and meaningful.
Josh Dun's Nose I should be able to like this comment more than once. He's so damn talented! He's done more than that show (which I also enjoy) and deserves to be recognised as such.
I wish people wouldn't mention Hamilton. Yes, I found Daveed Diggs through Hamilton. However, his life and his whole career does not revolve around that one musical. This has nothing to do with Hamilton, and is actually a very meaningful song, and it sucks that people are commenting jokes from something else that he was involved in which has nothing to do with his own personal music
hobhamwich But his music has nothing to do with Hamilton. Just because he was in the play doesn't mean you should associate it with his completely separate rap career.
DAVEED. You are one of my largest inspirations. You are an amazing artists and you have astonishing rap skills. Especially you voice changes in Hamilton from Lafayette to Jefferson. You are one of my biggest insparations. I hope that some day I get to see you in Hamilton. Because "the Clinton school for writers and artists" which I my school has been applying for months. I am in the middle school division, so I don't know if we are aloud to see it. But seeing the musical would probably bring me to tears with joy
Finally A real fucking rap song! I dont know where you came from but I'm on board. Love the beat The lyrics the feeling. A fucking subject and predicit! simple, complex, to the the point and hard! I can think , rock dance to it. It has it all. Not the jsut some mindlessKMEL 106.9 BAYAREA bullshit played in the comercial, the set , and in the mix 19 times a day. WOOOOOOOO ! i will take a breath now just to say thank you! can't wait for your new light to shine in the darkness . Later MANNN
I feel like this just had to be sad: Stop commenting about Hamilton! I love the show and all, but this is Daveed's song, and not just something for you to make Hamilton references about.
I love Hamilton as much as the next guy, to say the absolute least, and it's true that I discovered Daveed through Hamilton, but Daveed's career away from Lin is just as good and deserves just as much respect. It does make me sad that Daveed puts so much work into his projects, and creates such an incredible product, and all people care about is that they finally figured out what Jefferson was doing in France.
EriannaLuvsYou Hello there. Petrichor -Well, I just went to see a musical, and that made me happy. However, the girl sitting in front of me also happened to be someone that I care for very deeply, and seeing her for the first time in so long was really overwhelming. So… somewhere in the middle of extreme excitement and severe depression.- I'm fine for the most part.
can y'all stop referring to Daveed as Jefferson or making comparisons between the two of them. Daveed is his own man and has his own career. He had this solo career before Hamilton so can you just shut up.
it is litterly the opposite to me cause, like him, I was poor in a ghetto city so the clock drives labor and stress into me, while the anxiety attack in the elevator is well, something I used to experience a lot.
It's all in the water now, wash Sin sticks to the skin quick Round here to keep the skin thick Cause if that shit reach the vein, then it's toxic Tock, tick, tock tick Tickle me pink, riddle me this How do you fill a cliche with a middle finger and kiss it as a promise? I'm on this rock 24 years now Seen rain fall, puddle into pools Yes I'm Following, focusing on one drip Maybe a quick slip of the tongue Flipping it till this your own shit See, round here, nobody owns shit So if you own this statement it makes your vision a stone wit Every bit as much matter as the bone or the gristle or that muscle hustle for that fatty tissue Is you is or is you ain't ready? Personally it's hurting me to be fed up with fetty for sure Dedicated to know the weight of a teardrop Here, stop for a minute Catch your breath breathe deep We got time Matter of fact, that's all we got left Minus the breath and rhyme reside and the treble clef Who's the deafest? Fuck it Who's the definition of it? Fuck it What are we defining? Fuck, I was fine before I started thinking Grandma was fine before she started drinking I saw the sign and then I started blinking Fell off the line and now I'm on the brink I've lost the stink and Mapquest doesn't match my destination Smash chest before a manly ritual Damnit, I'm a fucking rap star The social conscience only slaps cars about as much as insecurity Don't tell me how to do my job man, I do it well Just tell me what I need to do to make my record sell Don't sell me on no magic, cause I don't believe in spells I'll see y'all rappers and politicians in hell It's all in the water now, wash It's all in the water now, wash It's all in the water now, wash
Lin: so what experience do you have with music Daveed: umm... Lin: should we do a background check Daveed: raps guns and ships Lin: I see that won’t be necessary
I wish people would stop limiting Daveed Diggs to his work in Hamilton, yeah , he was AMAZING as Lafayette and Jefferson but he isn't those people, not in his own art. Can we just appreciate Daveed Diggs for being Daveed Diggs?
Okay was I supposed to think he was making drugs and then it became records? Kinda reminds me of the short cartoon before Moana, but that might be because I just saw it today.
Daveed, that was a real decent rap song. Welcome to the present, it's filled Kanye West now. Would you like to join them, or stay a fellow of the Hamilton Association......Colorado XD
If we assume the Internet, you will get a new line of rappers, I hope you get it! If you go Jefferson or Lafayette, the world will get happiness, would you rather in get the opposite?
OKAY I LOVE HAMILTON AND ALL BUT HONESTLY DAVEED IM A BIG FAN OF RAP AND I LISTEN TO THIS ON REPEAT MY DUDE, YOU HONESTLY ARE SUCH A GOOD ARTIST AND DESERVE TO BE RECOGNIZED MORE THAN JUST HAMILTON
