I miss the days when top women used to play doubles, and it was played like this... Fast, skillful, athletic. Nowadays it's terrible...i never thought I'd see baseline rallies in doubles!
Golden era of doubles when the top men and women played doubles which is why they could handle the net with ease it added another dimension to their game. Now it’s very robotic and the players of today hardly know how to volley!
Novotna had the best hands of any player after Navratilova retired from singles. After Novotna retired, it was Hingis 1.0 & 2.0 until she finally retired. Now, no one has good hands, just groundstrokes.
