Did you also see Adam Lambert? Another gay guy on American Idol. But David will always be my favorite, he's just so pure and an inspiration. How can so many want to hurt him just because he can only fall in love with other men? David and Darren Hayes are the best two.

He never said people wanted to hurt him, just that they don't understand. I'm straight and David is an inspiration to me as well. I grew up very similarly (sadly without his talented voice) but I've struggled in different ways that help me understand his pain. People who have never been through something like this just don't understand.

I wish him all the happiness and peace he deserves.

Yep. He's an angel. 😇 If anyone kept trying to hurt him just for being honest, they can try and justify it by God but casting judgement on others is a sin.. they are sick trying to turn people away from God.

Yeah, probably one in a handful of songs that made me cry OUT LOUD. Couldn't hide how much this affected me. I remember getting told to leave church as a kid if I liked the same sex.. so I always wanted to hear an artist that's a Christian and homosexual. I just never thought it would be him, had no idea when I saw him on AI. I want to go back and buy all his albums bow. Thanks David, anyone that would hurt someone as sweet and good as you is EVIL, and it doesn't matter their reasoning.

Such a beautiful soul. I’ve been loving him since long time ago and I actually assumed that he is part of our community, and now opened. His story is more or less same as mine. I grew up in religious family and me is me i am still believe in God but in other way my orientation is still in me. I love my life bcs i think it’s beautiful. Soo i pray for him and us all.

I agree he should have won American Idol. I voted for him every week. Never was a question in my mind. I love his song with Nathan Pacheco. Such beautiful and gifted soul.

My heart breaks for you. It isn't a sin to be who "god" made you. What a cruel, evil being. I begged God for 40 years and he never glanced my way. Fasting twice a week for a year, praying every day all day long, reading my scriptures, attending the temple. Not once did he give me comfort. He stood by with all his power and watch on like a pervert while my baby sister (4 years old) and I (7) were r@peb repeatedly almost every day for a year. He watched. Yet for all those years after he wouldn't give me any relief. All the years of religion telling me I was a dirty flower by the roadside. Chewed gum. Unworthy. Eventually I realized I was begging the wind. The Wind! All those years feeling like I was the unworthy one, not worth God noticing me. I was praying to the SKY. What a RELIEF to realise it isn't me who is invisible to God. I finally was able to move on. At peace, and finally able to embrace life and be happy. The very Second I realized it, a wave of happiness rushed over me.

I know what you mean. I'm in my late 30s now and I've listened to a lot of music in my life but this touched me more deeply than anything else. I never thought I'd want to go to a Christmas show before but I so wish I could go but the few dates left are just to far away I couldn't feasibly do it without missing work but I hope he tours again soon, with him releasing a new single it probably means he will. I don't care if I had to hop a bus to get there, I'd easily pay $1,000 just to meet him and give him a hug and a thank you. And I would pay whatever for a front row ticket. Ain't ever wanted to meet someone in person as much as him. I also wish that years down the road if he doesn't want to tour as much that he would open up his own church. He would have great messages that included everyone, the way it should be. What an angel. 💕😇💕

Actually, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does recognize David, and he is loved. You are correct, he is God's creation, as we all are. As a member of His church, I pray that we all love as Christ did- without judgement.
