Why not? Canelo moved 4 weights, beat Kovalev and tried to beat Bivol...but Canelo unified at 154, 160 and 168 undisputed...so Benavidez should fight Jai Opetaia... they're the same size.

Benavidez is a big guy but he doesn't belong at heavyweight. He will do well at light heavyweight and cruiserweight though.

Beterbiev and bivol beat him at light heavy but he’s a top 5 fighter I’d say. Cruiserweight? NO CHANCE. even though the talent pool isn’t as great at light heavy those guys are a different sized human being. Benavidez cannot compete at cruiserweight. Can you imagine what jai opetaia would do to him? Opetaia destroys benavidez in 2 rounds!

Gvozyk might be washed up, but he got enough to beat mediocre fighters like Benavides, who only looked good with lil guys

And if we are being honest boxing has become more of a business “show business” or “entertainment” the last 5 years big time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a draw and I am going to put a $1,000 on it being one.

And he can't move up to heavyweight because he'd get cooked by the big dogs at 175, annhilated by anyone with a pulse at 200, and eaten alive by journeymen at heavy. Like Spence at 147 or Haney at 140, Benavidez is flattered by the small men he faces. The day he steps into the ring with someone his own size with skills is the day he loses.
