Lyrics
I know when to go out
And when to stay in
Get things done
I catch a paper boy
But things don't really change
I'm standing in the wind
But I never wave bye-bye
But I try
I try
There's no sign of life
It's just the power to charm
I'm lying in the rain
But I never wave bye-bye
But I try
I try
Never going to fall for
(Modern Love)
Walks beside me
(Modern Love)
Walks on by
(Modern Love)
Gets me to the Church on Time
(Church on Time)
Terrifies me
(Church on Time)
Makes me party
(Church on Time)
Puts my trust in God and Man
(God and Man)
No confessions!
(God and Man)
No religion
(God and Man)
Don't believe
In Modern Love
It's not really work
It's just the power to charm
I'm still standing in the wind
But I never wave bye bye
But I try
I try
Never going to fall for
(Modern Love)
Walks beside me
(Modern Love)
Walks on by
(Modern Love)
Gets me to the Church on Time
(Church on Time)
Terrifies me
(Church on Time)
Makes me party
(Church on Time)
Puts my trust in God and Man
(God and Man)
No confessions!
(God and Man)
No religion
(God and Man)
Don't believe
In Modern Love
Modern love - Modern love - Modern love - Modern love
Modern love - Modern love - Modern love - Modern love
- Modern love - Modern love - Modern love - Modern love
Modern love - Walks beside me, Modern love
Modern love - Walks on by, Modern love
Modern love - Walks beside me, Modern love
Modern love - Walks on by, Modern love
About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

For this music video: Hair & Make-Up - 100% Costume and Stage Design - 100% Crowd Reaction - 100% (The energy in this arena was incredible, it was filmed at the Philadephia Spectrum) If I could go back in time to watch one concert, David Bowie's Serious Moonlight Tour would be the one!

First concert ever, I was 6 in Germany. It was in the 80's, and I had no concept of music. When he sung, it was like watching Superman fly. I remember instantly thinking who is that and how is this happening. Immediately my worldview (musically) changed. Not drastically (I was 6) but was definitely a catalyst, and my love/appreciation has grown as I've gotten older.

Russell - I saw Davie Bowie in person live in Vancouver on August 8, 1983 for $20 at BC Place Stadium when Modern Love just came out on his LP Let's Dance which was his biggest selling LP in his life. I started out by buying his Ziggy Stardust LP when it first came out in 1972, it was out of this world great.

I had the pleasure of seeing David Bowie in concert in 1983 during the Serious Moonlight tour and he was on fire! What a great song and great show! Only a man as charismatic and gorgeous as David Bowie could look so good in a canary yellow suit! He was a once in a lifetime talent and his death left a void in pop/rock music that can never be filled. R.I.P. David Robert Jones, and thank you for the legacy of wonderful music and artistry you left behind.

David Bowie was awesome. He made amazing music, he refused to conform to stereotypes of gender, he spoke out about how black musicians are treated unfairly and he was all around a really nice guy. I had seen him in 83, His song writing, creative vision he not the type can copy, band today lost what he had, "ashes to ashes" the video has creative aspect not seen today, who is able to bring such lyrics he brought out. Bowie mentioned at one time 90% artist voice altered now, they never seem same on concert. 2 band that have great creative singers Phantogram and Metric(Canadian band) have expectional song writers, that demonstrate creative aspect that are natural gifts.

The driver, my friend was flipping the radio station and I heard the first two seconds of the song but he kept moving the dial. (not realizing it was Bowie). I just screamed and he slammed on the brakes causing the car to swerve. He looked at me and he asked " What?! What happened?!". "You missed a Bowie song!" I exclaimed. "I thought I hit something! Don't ever do that again!" He screamed. I have always loved Bowie and this song could snap me out of a coma.

That's exactly it - surreal and nostalgic, a strange feeling. I've always thought that too. For me this came out when I was in high school and it has a distinctive bass line with classic 80's mixing/mastering. So it takes me straight back to high school. I also feel that "surreal and nostalgic" vibe with Barry Manilow's "It's a Miracle", the Four Seaon's "Who Loves You", Supertramp's "Goodbye Stranger", Kim Carne's "Bette Davis Eyes", A Flock of Seagull's "Space Age Love Song" and many others.

I remember when this song was playing on the radio charts in the height of 1985. I was a 13 year old teenager. It was a trip. Old times that marked my life. Eternal David Bowie!
