FYI, Stevie Ray never played live with Bowie. He was in rehearsals for the Bowie tour but he quit before any live shows took place. Texas Flood was about to come out and Stevie decided he wanted to concentrate on his own band and music rather than being a side man for Bowie.
Many, many, many moons ago I had the original U.S. pressing of this on the famous RCA Dynaflex vinyl. Thinnest record I ever owned. You could nearly bend it so it formed a U. And one of the best sounding records I ever owned.
I have an imported Hunky Dory, you can virtually bend the vinyl if you wished ( I will try that on an RCA Perry Como) it is wafer thin as Mr Creosote would say!
I seen Bowie on the The Glass Spider Tour, Peter Frampton was in his touring band. Does this new pressing have the message on the back cover like the previous ones, "To Be Played At Maximum Volume"?
Hi, David Bowie was the man, I bet that album will sound amazing! I have a question, I'm having a bit of a dust issue on my record playbacks. Do you recommend the static gun or any other tips to avoid dust collection during playback? Thanks for your help and these awesome videos! :-D
I recommend an acrylic slip mat which helps a lot. I also run my carbon fiber brush across the record while the turntable runs at 78 speed before each playback. As for the dust gun? I have never had one or used one or know anyone that has used one. But I would not dissuade anyone from using one, if they thought it might help.
My CD is from Rykodisc. It’s a 90’s release with 5 additional bonus tracks. I just looked at it again and yes, the close up photos are there, but they are in color.
There's a 40th anniversary LP replica CD remaster. I have that. Many said that release has the truest sound compared to the original LP. In 2002, there was a 30th anniversary digibook 2 CD release. A lot didn't like the remastering on that, but CD 2 was a goldmine, for all its outtakes and rare tracks.
@@TJRtheOriginal I had that edition, but I gave it to my brother, when I got the 2012 CD remaster. Like you, I had a "I only need everything once" phase. I still try to keep my repeats down. I have most of the bonus tracks elsewhere, anyway. I sold my old "Hunky Dory" 90's CD as well. I wish I kept it, for the rare song, "Bombers". But, I do have a BBC radio rendition.
