Just love those DB P25's. Cut my teeth on one as a small boy, and am looking for one here in NZ to restore as a reminder of those wonderful halcyon days and when the world was in a much gentler space.... Thank you for the heads up on a few things I didn't know, - and hope one day to visit your wonderful looking museum. Looking forward to an update!
Thank you for sharing your new acquisition. My father bought a new DB25 in 1954, at Woodside, South Australia for working in our family apple, pear, cherry orchards. 1955, January saw devastating bushfires in the Adelaide Hills causing us to lose the aforementioned orchards but not the DB. The petrol/power kerosene reworked all our land and more to create market gardens. I wish you well in the restoration of your "new" tractor. I saw video recently of a rescued DB here in Australia but haven't seen any progress video.
Thank you for your comments, hope you enjoy following the restoration on this one, we have cleaned out the fuel system and had it running but more to come soon!
A TVO model. Marty has a RU-vid video of his similar 25 but his is a Petrol only model. I think the petrol only versions are more common in NZ. I have a Cropmaster and a 25, both petrol only although the Cropmaster has the same TVO, two filler tank, and selector valve. I am sure we will all be following your restoration here and looking forward to seeing it all come together. My two were like Marty's, about the same condition, and deal, both with much less rust than your example. I am sure a little rust will be no problem to you guys. Great tractors.
Seems to be a few petrol and TVO models in Aus as well. Good to see another one saved. Many here ended up scrapped with frost damaged blocks. We are certainly used to dealing with a bit of rust!
