David Carr Photography Nikon 300mm f/4E PF ED Review 

Been wondering whether this would be a useful landscape photography lens, particularly given it's lightweight and those two images at the end have convinced it would be a brilliant addition to my kit bag.

I stopped this review at the 1min mark and gave you a thumbs up - I like many just want a real opinion, not so much the nitty gritty and dinner specs - brilliant review man

Hi nice post Am considering purchasing this lens as AF seems to have died on my 300 AFS f4/D Many internet reviews say bokeh is harsh and unattractive on these fresnel lenses… Can u comment please? Cheers

My Nikon F4 has Autofocus. My question is, if I buy this lens, why do I have to set the aperture setting to F/32 for autofocus when in the P mode on my Nikon F4, the autofocus should set my aperture and shutter speed automatically?

I’ve been on the Canon bandwagon a while now.....need to get my hands on a Nikon for a test drive. Nice review!

300mm PF on a d500 in crop mode is night and day difference compared to the 200-500mm at 500mm in DX mode. Heatwaves also kill the 200-500mm at long range! The 200-500mm is a $400 lens.. My Sigma 50-500 DG OS HSM was way sharper but not a fixed aperture!

Was going to ask you about sample shots. They are included in last few seconds. Impressive shots.

I didnt like the 200-500 ,not nimble enough for action photography. I found the pump zoom was too unweildy and its heavy. This 300mm is my next purchase. Be awsome on a D500.
