David Cassidy come to the Isleof Wight for one day to meet & greet his fans from all over the UK. wightFM.com radio together with Alex Dyke followed the day with our cameras.
I went to this Day with David Cassidy meet and greet.... what a lovely day we had he was absolutely lovely. Do miss his presence on this planet, just knowing he was somewhere in the world was a blessing RIP David we love and miss you so much!
Rose Petal I think this in fact, as close as it gets, publicly, is the real David Cassidy, and find it rather good to not see him in that overjoyful, smiling from ear to ear-as for please everyone, state of mind. This seems more sincere and honest. Cant believe although, its only nine years ago, the last years for sure took a toll on him and his presence.
Dementia is a process. It does not come from one day to the other. I think sensitive people feel long in advance that something is wrong with them. The strength decreases quickly, you feel tired faster, you need more resources to keep up, and so on. He was completely exhausted in his younger years. he had no more reserves at the end :-(
I was at that event and David was actually happy and positively emotional all day that he was with us. He was sober, present, alert, articulate, warm and wonderful. He really was sincere, honest and sensitive as a person, gladly answering and asking questions, listening carefully and responding as though you were the only person in the room when you had one-to-one time with him. He was delighted when I asked him for a cuddle, laughing and repeating my accent. So sad to see him physically deteriorate during his last few years and devastated he is no longer with us.
not so much sad Roses Petal as tired; he would have been 50 then and maybe too this was after doing the show and the jet lag too don't forget.......can't believe though that this was in 2008! I had only just been in the Uk in 2007! if i'd known he was going to be there in '08 i would have waited and gone over then
