Did you notice how Mark's isolation is expressed when he goes to his dorm after the breakup? When he runs, literally no other person is walking in the same direction as him, only opposite or sideways.
Really its not about Facebook it’s about relationships being broken by success. It’s just the ultimate irony that the story of the destruction of social relationships is about the invention of a website capitalizing on relationships.
It’s about what we go through in every day lives. Money, power, greed. It’s what makes this movie so which causes the audience to pay attention to the relationship of Eduardon( played by Andrew Garfield) and Mark Zuckenberg ( played by Jessie Eiesenberg) in this film
Fax, Aaron sorkin said that the movie could be changed from the invention of Facebook to the invention of the toaster or something like that and it would still work because the story represents something bigger then just social media.
Can't Believe Jessie didn't won an Oscar for his performance as Mark. Obviously it's a fiction movie but Jessie literally killed it,no other person except mark can do the justice to this role.
To incorrectly paraphrase Jessie Eisenberg, “If it was a movie about Facebook, it would have been called Facebook.” But it not called “Facebook”, it’s called “The Social Network” because the movie is about the social life of Mark Zuckerberg and the network of friends/business associates/partners who’s bridges he burns.
It's all about human nature. What makes this great is Sorkin's ability to use character to drive story. You can put these characters in a different scenario fighting over the same end game. Fighting over any other prize. It's how they get there which makes this so good.
Great video!!! Love how you covered all aspects of the film, include scenes plus extras, whilst not being too long or full of your own rambling dialogue. 😆 We need more videos from you please 🙏
Your analysis videoo was really well made. i couldn't tak emy eyes of it. Good analysis; Social Network is one of my favorite movies for this; I love the symbols, camera movments, music/image combinations. I love everything. David Fincher is one of my models
Do you think you could link me to the original cast interview video? I want to listen more to what they have to say about the movie, especially about the costuming.
*loves video....goes to check other videos.....no other videos like this at all....confused face... youtube needs you bro. feed us peasants with more analysis!
OP, I think this is the first video of yours I've ever stumbled onto. As someone who enjoys browsing the many film-critique kind of RU-vid videos & has acted, directed, and designed, I must say yours is a cut about the rest. Edit: I can't believe this is OP's only content. I hope he's still doing something along these lines, I think he'd be good at it.
@@CrossExamination how did u get so good at analyzing films? I saw this film for the first time today the other day and didn't pick any of that up. I remember liking the kineticness of the script and the lighting in a lot of scenes. How it made Mark look kinda sinister.
@@gabrielidusogie9189 I appreciate the kind feedback! I could say something about film school and spending a lot of time watching movies, trying to be introspective, etc. However, sadly, the truth is... I was born this way. All there is to it.
@@gabrielidusogie9189 It can, but it takes a lot of self awareness. You have to really understand a lot about movies and how everything flows together to catch things like these. Watch more movies, listen to more music, learn more things. Intake information, it not only helps one subject but all the others as well, and you just feel good to understand yourself really well. Then again, media is a subjective expirence and that could be all it means to you, and that's okay!
Okay no joke but I feel like the music in this has a similar effect as the music in Inside Out...like, the Pixar movie...I can't really explain it but the idea of emotional layers translated into a modern orchestral style score seems to be used in similar ways, which is just. Bonkers to me
Good video man, subscribed. The only criticism i have is when you show all the cuts of the actors its pretty long with no voice over (i think). It might just be me though, other than that i liked the video a lot!
I liked the video, but I wish there was much less usage of clips from the bonus features. I just came from those and didn't want to watch them again. Your point about the cinematography was great, but more of that and less lifts from the features would be great and improve the video for everyone and not just those who haven't had access to the bonus features.
So let me get this straight. The rebellous dude that almost f'ed up his duette of 'Hurt' with David Bowie wrote the score to this movie... Ok, everything's forgiven for 'Just Like You Imagined'.
I didnt notice this before but thats why mark probably drained eduardos ownership in the company.....facebook was Marks baby ya know..he had nothing else going for him in life......didnt notice that good things were only happening to Eduardo in the beginning...but going through the same thing its hard to be happy for your friends when good things are only happening to them...and when mark moved to california to incorportate the company...eduardo didnt go initially which was his only fault by letting Mark and Sean do whatever they want...Eduardo is the CFO of the company and he was barely there lol and he let Sean walk all over him.....never ever do business with friends lol...its a cut throat world
@miodragniss While I get your point, language is a living thing and is changed over time as society’s use of words change. So, while the current vernacular use of irony doesn’t meet the traditional definition of the word (“incongruent” is what most people actually mean), it has become so common that it’s most likely an acceptable usage. It’s prolly time to update the dictionary (u c what I did thur).
