David Ford's excellent one camera one take video for "I Don't Care What You Call Me".. ouch! Buy 'David Ford - I Don't Care What You Call Me' on iTunes itunes.apple.com/gb/album/i-si...
Great song...the imagery in it is amazing, David as Christ like and all those queuing up to slap him. The look on his face as he looks up hurt is the exact one of so many paintings of the crucifixion. I loved this song long long before I saw the video; both are deep, disturbing yet beautiful.
I saw David at the Gothic Theater in 2008 in Denver when I was an alcoholic and going through a bad relationship...and this song blew my mind... all these years later I still listen to it... it almost still tears me up to this day when he says "and rain it on down what else can you throw at me I haven't heard before"
I love this video, to me it is about guilt and the desire to receive punishment from the people you've hurt. I think most people really want to atone for the wrongs that they've done, to pay for everything that you owe, to make your conscience debt free, so to speak, would be a wonderfully liberating feeling.
Every once in awhile you discover a song that describes a mood your in or a time in your life. This song is that song for me. It describes my childhood. David Ford is an excellent performer and I look forward to hearing more of his music in the years to come.
Wundermuyy got it right when he said this guy needs more exposure , i stumbled on him only thanks to you tube posting one of his songs on main page from thier i was hooked had to listen to everything he has done !! how he mastered the instumental loops is also unreal .he knows how to put on a show .
Pure genius Mr ford.Beautiful song once again and a unique video in the best use of the word. I went from almost tearing up halfway through to just about laughing out loud when the camera pans out to the que.
Love your music Bro.....shine on this song touches my heart from all the ones who tried to break it... LOVE AND LIGHT keep makin great songs like this Love to U
So many wonderful things I can say about this faboulous song and its video! One of the best ever made, and with a super-low budget venue! (And who needs distracting color, it defeats the purpose snd image.)
Hello Mr Ford. thank you so much! x x (I have half a dozen men sat here saying you will never contact me .....but i think i just got you 6 fans!) .....they are still crying! x x
Reminds me of that Airplane comedy movie... when the lady on the plane went crazy and Leslie Nielsen and the flight attendant slapped her and then the camera cut to the long line of people waiting for their turn to slap the hysterical lady. LOL
Totally agree with Cataclysm42 why slate David Ford. some people go through a lot of shit in there life and someone has wrote a song to get that shit out so that they can move on in life
What about Brian season 2 Episode What about secrets broutht me here...don't know what I like best this song on the end of the episode or just the song.... whooohooo :)))
i am curious thoe is most of your insperation from Damien Rice. i also believe you have a freakish voice resemblance on some of your songs from Bono(u2) not this one but some of your other songs i heard.
When I saw it, was I thought was they were paying him to let them slap him, to let out their anger. And he was doing it because he felt he needed to be punished for something he had done
This guy clearly has relationship 'issues' (just read problems and failures) with at the very least, all his contempories and ex-friends (his only friends, probably), and maybe everyone he ever knew by extension, regardless of age, time or location. When I saw that cue, this vid suddenly went from sad to masochistically hilarious!!! No fan club for him! Luckily, none were armed or had to feel they needed to use any martial arts they might have known or their fists. This video is a masochist's fantasy (Sorry, kids, not me.) We don't really know why they are angry at him or hate him so (much). Is it just drunkeness, or do they despise him for his very existence, as has and does happen to billions worldwide since childhood? (And always will.) As TR said: Bully! (In more way than one.) At least he admits his guilt, for whatever. Some probably wish it was DJT on the receiving end here. A good tune for terminably ill, guilt ridden folks as well, possibly. Good to know that it's not just about some dude and his angry, erstwhile girlfriend. That's just too trite.(I could watch this for many a time.) LOL segues to LMFAO!
