I've loved Katharine since her AI audition. And David is A LEGEND. Katharine had already had a career before she married him and they've known each other for so long so I have no doubt that their marriage isn't about anything but love for each other. They are so cute together. When they talk about each other, they give each other little touches. Its so cute!!! I'm so happy for them!!

I've seen them together they seem like really a great match, they are truly in love. he smiles constantly and so does she they laugh a lot...its called joy...admiration mutual respect, they seem very well suited for each other.

Who knows. But people need different things. I know women who married much older men and found a better relationship than they had before with people their own age. It might not just be the money. You can see Foster still has a a lot of energy, is still very sharp, and a lot of charm - perhaps he also has problems finding people his age that can keep up with him? It's pointless speculating, we just don't know.

@J J I’m a month late on your comment. In the beginning of his and Kat’s relationship I thought no surprise and it really wasn’t, as it seemed obvious that there was a strong attraction going back to American Idol. I only watched one episode of RHOBH and it was one where all were gathered in Yolanda’s and David’s home and she asked him to play a tune on the piano to a rather disgusting made up song and I could tell David didn’t want to, so regardless of her sickness, there were problems brewing.
That is not the reason for their divorce. And NEVER presume to know what goes on in someone's marriage. That is advice my father gave me and has served me well for 62 years. Do not take sides.

I think that they are very well suited for each other. Yolanda is a beautiful women, but David Foster is all about music. A couple has to have things in common that draw them together. Romance isn't forever and if you have nothing in common, a marriage simple fades just like beauty. My husband and I are fourteen years apart and it can be a struggle at times to find common ground but we are both artistic and have a deep love for our family and that is what holds us together.

Let's address the elephant in the room: was he cheating on Yolanda with Katharine prior to their divorce in 2017? It seems so. It's interesting how we've normalized this. Hearts were broken and lives were torn apart. Yolanda was a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. I guess this is what happens when you marry a man that's been married three times before you get involved. Katharine is David's FIFTH wife. Not sure what he's looking for but hope he's found it.
Aging men do not marry decades younger women because they are looking for an equal partner. This relationship is about power, manipulation and control.
Conversely, a woman in her 30s marrying a 70 year old man can only mean she's with him for the money. She knows full well that he's old and wrinkled. I judge them both equally. She's a gold digger and he's a cradle snatcher. Both are equally reprehensible and anyone who supports this deserves to be judged, just as harshly.
Kamal Hussain I don’t think it’s the money more than the status. This man literally wrote and produced most of the songs for all of the best artists in our decade. He is full of connections and really is a mentor to her, boosting her face and voice out there way further than she could alone or any other person managing her. She is getting more fame just for being married to him alone, I truly believe she was not able to accomplish this all on her own even though she has accomplished minor fame on her own, so she definitely is with him for the main reason of being a really well known world wide star, after all this man even connected her to Andrea Boccelli and other major real talents and so she probably took a genuine liking to him and he definitely is admirable and still attractive even at his age. He is with her for the obvious. Young, ripe, and sexual, and someone that will follow whatever he says, not in a bad way, but makes him proud because she actually listens to him and his advice and because of what he is able to do for her. She has blossomed and glows more than ever because of everything he does for her, but where is the crime here? This couple is not doing anything others haven’t done. It’s their business honestly. I came here after watching a Neil Sedaka interview where they mentioned that in the 70s David Foster was in his band playing keyboards. The picture they put was bizarre. David had real long messy hair and shades and was really skinny. He looked nothing like the guy of today. That was in 1974. The video of Neil performing Laughter In The Rain on Midnight Special had no Foster on keyboards.
He is decent looking, although I can tell he had work done...I don't blame him - he can't hide his age, but if he gets a bit of work done, spikes up his hair to look a little younger, then go for it!
What’s his appeal? I get that he’s rich and famous and extremely talented, but why would such a young girl want to be married to him? He been married like 4 times and has a ton of kids. How could she even have kids with him when he’s probably going to die before they get to high school.
I’m sorry for disappointing all of you, but what is wrong with David Foster and Katharine McPhee-Foster being together? I find David very attractive and so does Katharine, apparently. They both have so much love for music and when music is your life, you can understand how they fell in love with each other and got married. Let them just be happy together!
Watching them, I must say they show genuine affection for each other...notice how they keep reaching out and touching one another as they talk...hopefully it lasts.
She’s wasting her last youthful years if she ever plans on having children in the future. Sadly this relationship won’t last. When she finally finds a partner closer in age, it may be too late to have children by then. BUT if she doesn’t want kids, then she’s in the right place with the right person. It’s just how it is!

Yes. She’s set financially for life (although there was a prenup) but he is also a very talented composer and pianist! I’m sure that was attractive to her. Not to mention the connections he has. He can also write for her, tour with her, and help her grow as an artist! She definitely got the good end of the deal. *I like David more than I like her. Although she is a great vocalist, something about her chews at me. Dunno what it is. Insincerity? I don’t know!
