PS-- the Biblical DAY of the LORD is "Darkness--- NOT LIGHT!" AMOS 5:18-20+ 8:9 + JEREMIAH 4:10-28*** "Earth will MOURN, for I will DARKEN THE HEAVENS, I HAVE SPOKEN AND I WILL NOT RELENT " (saith the LORD---> Ref. ISAIAH 51:6 + QURAN 44:10 "Wait for a day when the heavens are covered with a VISIBLE SMOKE"--Surah Al-Dhukan or "The SMOKE"! (Trump LLC jumped to the WONG CONCLUSION about that).

Excellent, rational discussion, punctuated by the Jack Kemp clip. And 35 years later, a whole bunch of indies and center-left Democrats could deal with Asa Hutchinson or Liz Cheney in the White House. But a whole bunch of Republicans could not.

Because there’s nothing conservative about Liz Cheney or Asa Hutchinson. Democrats (including myself at the time) were furious at the Bush Administration, we were anti-globalist, anti-war etc…and now suddenly people look to the daughter of the VP in that administration and the DHS secretary as paragons of virtue and sanity? My politics are simple - no frivolous wars, stable money, no mass surveillance…the only candidates offering anything approximating that are Trump, DeSantis, Ramaswamy and RFK…those are the only candidates I will vote for and not in that order. Hutchinson and Cheney are cowards and liars and will take us back 20 years and not in a good way.

Geez. David French is so good with words and getting to the heart of our issues. When I hear candidates in Congress I think- is this as good as we got? Why can't we get some David Frenches with some clarity, brains, eloquence, character & love for the country. It just seems like the quality of the people that are representing us is so lacking in every way.

Actually, politics have replaced all 3…but there’s a good reason for that…corruption and incompetence are far more visible now. I pay a lot of attention to what’s going on and if politicians did their job (like Clinton and Gingrich or DeSantis in FL), I wouldn’t have to pay attention.

David French is a decent humane man with great integrity. I don’t think there is a place for people like him in todays Republican party.

Not sure what Republican Party you’re talking about. I look at them and there’s diversity of opinion - many of them sound like the Democratic Party when they were sane. By todays standards, Bill Clinton would be considered a Republican. Democrats, almost in unison require conformity - just look at Tulsi Gabbard and her account of how radical and intolerant the democrat party has become.

The Republican party has sold its soul for power - if they are forced to choose between truth and power, they will pick power over truth.

The iconic quote "It's about the Economy Dummy" gave Regan two terms. Today "It's about the Brand, Dummy" and that is why Trump will also have two terms. Neither the DEMS or the GOP understands Branding.

Margaret is such a lightweight interviewer, it’s a disservice to the namesake of the show. The greatest threat to US society is deep polarization and government overreach. When did this polarization start? In my opinion it was during the Bush II administration. Forceful neoconservatives in powerful positions in the administration changed our country’s foreign policy and law enforcement. This led to 2 foreign wars that lasted over a decade and lost so many American and foreign lives as well as trillions of taxpayer dollars. The patriot act was a seminal moment, not just because the federal government were given authority to collect data on everyone, but because law enforcement was given unchecked authority. They never gave it back. Under the neoconservative administration, budgets deficits ballooned causing massive debt, NAFTA hit its stride as manufacturing evaporated and the banking economy collapsed. This guy French is one of many representatives of that era. Why not challenge him? He’s supposed to be an expert? He represents the most discredited and unpopular ideology in America today.
