Child prodigy, rightfully so. So much musical and technical understanding. David's version is the only one which makes me cry!!!! Fabulous orchestra and conductor!!!! 😢

A 16 year old to play better than a professional violinist, is nothing but an exceptional, great, unusual talent. David, you are an amazing violinist. We love you!
So amazing...magical..virtuously brilliant... wonderful with each intonation...very emotional young David Garrett showed high class ability to expess not easy F. Mendelson Concert...Absolutely incredible phenomenal performance...Bravo!!!💖👏
Один из любимых концертов. Блестящее исполнение!!!! Не перестаю восхищаться Дэвидом!! Талантище!!!! Слушать произведения в его исполнении -- одно наслаждение!
If you listen to all the Mendelssohn Violin Concertos in E minor that have been uploaded to RU-vid. David Garrett’s is the finest. Expression, finesse, power, and technically superior. No question.
Agree. I don’t know but there’s something in his version that’s so powelful, so clear. Btw I find that his and Itzhak Perlman’s version is so similar, I wonder if it has something to do with them being teacher and student.

@Alan Deutsch He was touring through the world already at a young age so this isn't about his skill not being good enough (as we can hear). He most likely just wasn't happy with his current route. Though I agree that it is a loss but at the same time he put more attention on classical music for the masses
I don't think he lost his soul and became a fake idol with a plastic face who's now just s showman. Yes he plays popular mainstream music but he still does play and record classical music. He does both types of music. Which I think is pretty cool because it brings in a lot of variety and freshness.
@@rexregum6693 Right. I saw him twice on the stage at the Enescu Festival , and he played brilliantly Bruch, and Tchaikovsky. He still plays entire classical concertos, if needed.
David is very good at Cantilena parts, but his recital is by no means Apassionata, especially in the beginning. As for the third part, there is no proper staccato, it's not sharp enough; it would suffice to listen to Ms. Mutter playing it. In other words, this is a performance of a good student, but far from the best recitals of this concerto.
I agree that the beginning sounds rather robotic. But to say this is a "good student" performance is far from reality. His sound is strong and his tempi are stable. His intonation is also on point. David Garrett was and kind of still is a great violinist. Not many "good students" will perform at this level ever in their life.
David is one of the greats in the list of prodigies. In this concert he is still young, but his artistic interpretation is profoundly mature. This performance ranks as one of the most musical and passionate interpretations of the Mendelssohn concerto, along with Helena Spitkova, and Joshua Bell. I’ll accept the first minutes of warm up, praise this beautiful performance and advise to change his holding of the bow for more suppleness.
