When I was about nine, I asked my mom for a violin. "Mama, I wanna be like David Garrett!" She just looked at me. Christmas came and I opened my presents A violin case With nothing but a note inside "No one can be as good as David Garrett."

I used to be a fairly talented violinist when I was a kid and teenager. Toured China and Greece with my musical group and performed at several venues. Unfortunately, years of depression and untreated adult ADHD caused me to leave my violin untouched for almost a decade. I just felt that I’d never be good enough and that simply going through the motions wasn’t worth it. Until I stumbled upon this particular video of one of my favorite violinists playing one of my favorite songs. Something in me just clicked, and I took my violin out, dusted it off, and promptly broke my E string trying to tune it. David, if you are reading this….thank you . Your music gave me the strength to recoup my passion for something I used to love doing.

This is why David Garrett will go down in history: he plays the violin with utter, complete and total joy and communicates this with every note. He is a true artist.

Listening to this in 2024 again is amazing, gives me strength by reminding me to my dad, and when he still was with my mum, brother and I. He gave me the best music taste ever.

I remember sitting on the couch when I was five, not knowing how any of the music video crap worked, and not even knowing what RU-vid was when my parents showed me this. The first words out of my mouth, and I quote, were: "I wanna play Violin." I'm fifteen now and still playing. Thanks David :)

I play the violin since I am 6 years old. This was my first CD I actively wished for when I was 10. Later, I played the song with my friend on the cello on her dad's second wedding. It was all very beautiful, all their friends have been there, in their own garden during summer. I still play the violin, must be 15 years by now. This colourful video effects will stay in my head forever.

Don’t know why but I suddenly felt the urge to look up this gem of a video It’s been yearsss since I’ve first seen this video but I still think till this day that THIS was the best Violin cover for this song 11 years ago and this still hits different!! Man time flys by so fast 🙂‍↕️

One of my favourite pieces of music by the wonderful genius Chris Martin...played by the wonderful totally amazing talent of David Garret. Such happiness playing it.. The first time I heard David playing this (only this year) , it filled my heart to bursting... I never tire of it..headphones on, immersed in it... If my heart ever feels a bit low, I listen to this at high volume, it lifts my heart to a heavenly place...bursting with joy... Thank you David.. magnificent ❤
