Does somebody know if snooker players get immediately taxed on their prize money? I realize you have to yearly report your income but I just wonder about the mechanics of it.

Probably not immediately, but you know that the government will get its grubby mits on around 40% of it eventually!

Ignore me because I don’t actually know. But, a savvy accountant will limit the tax burden for the players. Their winnings will have a percentage put aside for their tax bill. But it’s not like PAYE. It’s all worked out for them.
