I was at night 2, I quite deliberately decided not to photograph or video any of the performance, I wanted to go back to how it was when I saw so many bands back in the 70's and 80's, thanks for posting this.
I've got floor seats for Madison Square Gardens and I'm thinking about videoing very sparingly or not at all to be honest. There are a ton of people with their phones out for most of the show and I just want to enjoy it without any distractions.
@@Robsheph hey Rob - from this position, just behind the sound desk, it was super tight, crisp and clear… really top notch quality but the venue has always delivered at any past shows I’ve seen there
This was probably his best vocal performance of this tour but that second solo was not good at all notes that were way off pitch tone was not good and the improvisation was bad
Quanta gente barulhenta nesse show do David Gilmour. É gente berrando, é gente gritando, é gente uivando, furante a música.
Knowing how much Gilmour and Roger Waters hate (detest?) each other, it's weird to hear Gilmour playing this song, considering Waters wrote the lyrics. I would think it would be uncomfortable for Gilmour to sing those words, knowing they were written by this guy you utterly can't stand. I suppose the song is just something the audience demands, because it's such a huge hit, so it's sort of out of Gilmour's control. Gotta give the crowd what they want, right?! He plays it with real feeling and passion, though, so you've got to give him credit for that. 👍
lol he wrote the music his demo with words Roger changed the words Hence both on copyright credit & it's the guitar solo people want. Has no problem singing loads of Rogers lyrics Time WYWH Breathe & loads more on previous tours.
@@Sean_1970-ED Right, but nowadays, Gilmour and Waters are bitter, bitter enemies. Holy smokes, do they ever despise one another. And lyrics are so personal that I would just think Gilmour would want nothing to do with singing material Waters wrote. I would think it would make Gilmour sick to his stomach. But apparently I'm wrong in this way of thinking. 😃
@@Jim_L Don't think you are wrong just think David & Rick probably regard making the music is most important & David is in record saying when he had to sing Brain Damage / Eclipse on Division Bell tour it was a privilege to sing the lyrics to Dark Side & Roger wrote every lyric he thanks Waters on the live Pulse concert. However he does state he wouldn't touch the final cut & majority of the wall so definitely not keen on those lyrics! I always thought lyrics were important but it was harder to write the music but I don't know to be honest. 🍀✌️👍
@@Sean_1970-ED There was a period -- post Roger Water's era Pink Floyd -- where Gilmour and Waters were quite civil toward one another. Heck, when Waters was doing The Wall tour, he asked Gilmour to play "Comfortably Numb," which Gilmour accepted (you can find it on RU-vid -- it's pretty freakin' amazing). Later, Gilmour then asked Waters to join him in a song or two for a charity benefit Gilmour was a part of, and Waters, too, accepted (this, as well, you can find on RU-vid). But ever since Waters has started speaking out for the rights of Palestinians and condemning Israel, oh, brother -- the sparks between Gilmour and Waters has hit an all-time high! In addition, Gilmour has forbidden Waters to be a part of any Pink Floyd business stuff, which, of course, has upset Waters like there's no tomorrow. It's a sad state of affairs, but it is what it is. Such beautiful music the two once created together; it breaks my heart that it has come to this. 😥
@@Jim_L I was at the 02 that night & the body language wasn't great to be honest & Nick Mason was at the 02 but never played I found that strange he did bang a tambourine for outside the wall! The RU-vid videos the rehearsal I agree seemed ok but I heard David said he loved standing playing that solo & took the opportunity to play Cnumb again on the wall! Because Roger played on David's Palestine charity David agreed to perform at 02 the charity concert on RU-vid. Think they could tolerate each other for a day but even David's lapse Dbell lyrics were written by others particularly Polly on Dbell.. When you think about it they only worked together 17 years out of nearly 60 years A lot of wasted time particularly David as Roger has done more tours etc .🍀✌️👍
