I am happy David Gilmour still active releasing new music, and able to make music as if he was on his prime. You’re an inspiration Mr Gilmour, God bless you and keep you!!
Masterclass ... of lyrics and composition structure ... David brings us another precious gift ... and for me it is more "Luck" then "Strange" ... from my all time favorite guitarist ...
In my opinion the best song since his "On an island" album. Just brilliant the groove, the refrain and the guitar solo at the end gives the song a typical David Gilmour finish
It's almost 80 years old. I can't even imagine what I must be like to have the responsibility and what people expect from him. He has a beautiful wife and a beautiful family. He pretty much shared his life with his fans
Yes, he is a genius. And yes he is very contented with his life and part of that is his work, but also his family. His wife Polly writes his lyrics and has since the early 1990's. And they have 8 children between them. A few years ago, during Covid lockdowns, he made a series of "home movies" so to speak in his barn, with family, wine and song. His daughter Romany is also good with music and the two of them did the following lovely rendering of a solo song of David's and you see her playing a role in The Piper's Call video as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dGdEe8yp2TI.html ( David Gilmour with Romany Gilmour - Yes, I Have Ghosts (Von Trapped Series) ) And here is a photo album set to one of David's songs showing Romany carrying on the family tradition: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T_gQ_D5yhAE.html ( David Gilmour and Romany Gilmour - Kokineli ) So yes he is very content, and enjoys being creative, celebrates family... and can you imagine having David as your father and music teacher? And how amazing is the likeness of Romany to a young David!!!
I recommend, for anyone who hasn’t watched The making of “An Island album” to watch it. I believe it’s around 20-26 minutes long, but worth it. Also “The barnyard sessions” they are just jamming music. The drummer playing bass, the bass player playing guitar and David Gilmour playing drums, Richard Wright seem overjoyed. Nice session
This is amazing year so far: Mark Knopfler's Guitar Heroes ( incl DG), then his beautiful album One deep river, then EP with great track All comers and then DG's single and the new album on a way
HE WILL BE DOING A TOUR FOR THIS ALBUM, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU SHOULD DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SEE HIM. I GUARANTEE, IT WILL BE THE EPIC EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFETIME. IVE SEEN PINK FLOYD THREE TIMES N WAS ABOUT TO GO FOR A FOURTH, BUT GAVE MY TICKET TO A FRIEND. WHEN THEY CAME BACK, THEY WERE SPEECHLESS FOR THREE DAYS. I REALLY HOPE THAT YOU GET TO EXPERIENCE HIS CONCERT TOGETHER. GOOD LUCK N ROCK ON 👊🖖
I am a major fan of David Gilmour and (especially) "David Gilmour's Pink Floyd"... so post 1983 (1987 until present). But since the conclusion of The Division Bell tour in 1994, he has chosen to lead a mostly private life with family. But he has stuck to a plan that leads to a new major solo project about every 9 years (with miscellaneous Pink Floyd re-releases sprinkled in the cracks), I hope to see an actual tour in around a year from now. I think a lot of fans of him are quite quick to say that he has a kind of lazy work ethic since the 90's, and I maybe agree... but also, the musical legacy is enormous as is (even if I never get the chance to watch him live). 👍🎶
Just failed to secure a ticket to any of his Albert Hall shows in October through the prerelease route - damn. May have another go tomorrow with the general release. Great song, very strong chorus, understated guitar solo doesn't really do it for me. What I do love are all the smiles and positive emotions in the video!
What a big difference there is between the performances of David Gilmour and Roger Waters. Gilmour always exudes calmness, ease and joy, and judging by the video footage of his various concerts and tours, you can always see the great vibe Gilmour gives off between each performance. All the musicians and singers are always very happy to perform or collaborate with him on recordings. Waters is an egotist and usurper, there are hateful remarks at his concerts and he always makes political points. I don't like him. I would never presume to say he is a bad composer or poet - on the contrary - he is brilliant, but as a person he does not impress me well...
This is a interview with Gilmour speaking French, could this guy get any more cool ?.........ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZwkOSBUrgl8.html
I just reserved my tickets to David Gilmour’s second night show at the Hollywood Bowl in October of this year. I was so happy today that I barely got any work done. 😊
I think it's only 6 shows in London this October, I got tickets this morning, £272 a ticket but then how many more times will David play live shows as time marches on.
@@RushfanUK I missed out - all gone when I tried. I may try again tomorrow with the general release, but I will not not not spend more than £200. Maybe there will be more dates added.
i had lost my liking for gilmours music because of the idiot fans who put heaps of undeservedly rubbish on roger waters, i had allowed my mind to get clouded, although i also still felt a lot of love for gilmour. i have managed to set aside the silly comments and only let in the good pink floyd fans through, now thanks to gilmour my love for his music is back, this song is brilliant, it sounds to me that it has a hint of polly's lyrical style in it but i could be wrong, so happy to hear this and cant wait to buy the new album, also great reaction once again, i love your content and your personalities.
@@PedroPaulaner-o3r basically its like anything in life, if you listen to too much negativity, it can have a negative effect on your thoughts and outlook, if you ignore the negativity, the beauty of life is yours to enjoy,
@@kevinohara2618 all good, afterwards I had answered I also realized it's quite a human approach and it affects us all more or less. I am not free of it neither, considering I absolutely value Roger Waters musical work in Pink Floyd, but I do not automatically adhere to his other views in life on politics, social behaviour and thoughts etc neither... Nonetheless his artistic impact and work under Pink Floyd is undisputed.
