David Gravette takes you through his skateboard Setup, starting with the 8.2 Creature team series deck. He rides it with Indy 139 trucks and 53 mm Bones wheels. He skates the Circa Lamb, the David Gravette pro model shoe. Check out his Setup then watch him skate the Portland parks and an indoor bowl.

I used to run the same way. 8.2 board with 139's but I stepped up to 8.38 and 149's and I really enjoy it.

yeah i got some nice bigger boards that i wanna grip and use... but theyre 8,25 and 8.38 and such... maybe its not a bad investment to get myself 149 hollow forged indys..

Curtis Williams No matter what brands you personally choose to use, 8.38 + 149s (basically any 8.5 truck)is the best board + truck combo you can ride. Good on you for the switch.

i ride 159s(friends had extra lyin around) when i broke the kingpin on my 139s. i ride flat 8.38 bakers. I have 149 titanium hollow thunders on a concave baker 8.38 i got which is nice n light. But the 159s are stage 10s and pretty heavy. its nice though to have the extra stability, i know for a fact riley hawk rides bigger trucks idk about other pros. a good amount of pros ride 149 thunders on their 8" setups. Been about 1-1.5 years on the 159s. its nice having that extra hanger to grind on but the weight is definitely noticable with spitfire wide conical wheels. Then again reynolds will only ride 139s on his 8.45

what i mean is if he wants to ride a wider deck but not make his board so fat and heavy, ride an 8.5 or whatever he wants but use the hollow 149s, so its not so heavy

actually he states that 8.2 is the biggest board you can ride one 139's still being able to see your truck axle 8.5 on 139's you wont be able to see your trucks while skating at all

No its because they just like how it feels look at torey pudwill hes pretty tall and he just went up to a size 8. Its all personal preference im 5'7 size 8.5 shoe and i skate an 8.5 deck.

Not really it depends on how you feel about it, Torey is small he's about around 5'6. I'm 5'8 with a 9 shoe size n I like 8.1.
