David, I was going to NYU around this time and I believe it was on this trip that you played there. I was on the committee that was in charge of signing artists to play at the student center. A few months earlier my friend, Miranda from Manchester had played A Century Ends for me and I was blown away. I must have listened to it a dozen times that first day. I had our committee get in touch with you somehow and you agreed to play. Unfortunately the day of the performance, the school needed the student center for another event and they moved you into the food court next to a Pizza Hut stand. I was so embarrassed. I apologized to you over and over and you were very gracious and said you'd played much worse locations. You put on a breathtaking performance and it was one of the highlights of my time at NYU. I later saw you at Sine, The Wetlands and other places around NYC over the following years. I felt a sense of pride when I went many years later to see you at Radio City Music Hall. Your music has remained with me over all these years and for that I thank you.

First time I was able to see you live was in 2014 maybe 2015. It was at the Red Hat in Raleigh NC. It was an awesome show. I just remember you saying something about the trains and moments later a train came through blowing its whistle.

Ha hah..this is brilliant Dave, I love this! You may jest and watching our younger selves is alway embarrassing (the cockyness ay, but it's our right at that age) but you've got to start somewhere and you've become one of the best singer/song writers ever in my humble opinion. Every album you release is sublime! Massive respect.
