I had the privilege of briefly meeting David Halls & John Challenger after a Festival Eucharist in Salisbury Cathedral in July 2022. In addition to the wonderful singing of the VW Mass in G minor by three cathedral choirs (Salisbury, Chichester & Winchester) & wonderful Franck & Bach organ voluntaries, I remember the friendly welcome by the clergy & people, and the dry senses of humour of both these gentlemen.
