@Jared Showers how does a man who lies about raising 100s of people from the dead with absolutely no proof.... claims that he astral planes and can be in multiple places at one time, be taken seriously?? How is one to be encouraged from a man who lies and tries to use the word of God as his prop? The sad thing is all these people flock to him and put their jackets on stage for him to stomp on as if he has the power to somehow heal or impart something Spiritually to these people. He wants to put himself in a place of power that only God has and those Apostles who God, for a time, gave the ability to do. The extreme charasmatic movement has distorted the Bible and confused millions of people. I know because I was caught up in that movement for years. At its extremes, it is completely heretical. This idea that as a human you can "create" by speaking is putting yourself on par with God and false. It's the same sin issues that caused the downfall of humanity, starting in the garden with Adam and Eve (you will be like God), and also with Satan himself who was cast from heaven for trying to be God. Yet, today, because God's mercy keeps Him, for a time, from striking people dead for claiming to be able to do something only He can, we have a world that has done exactly what Paul warned us not to do. We have begun to preach a gospel different from what they taught. Paul said that those people were accursed, or in Greek, anathema (which means set aside for destruction). This is serious stuff people are doing, and all in the name of God, but are simply self seeking and wanting power.... wanting to be God.
