Nah, I see the differences clearly. David is outspoken, funny and confident (or at least he pretends to be very well) and Mark is constantly nervous, fidgety, worried and uncomfortable. Also funny, obviously, but in a self-depricating way. David's angry rants would never fit Mark, not unless he was shouting them at Jez.

Mark loses his temper several times, often at Jez. Both Mark and David are both geeky and lacking in social skills. On Would I Lie to You?, David often shows his impaired social skills. Despite being a famous millionaire, David didn't get his first and only girlfriend until he was in his mid-30s - despite desperately wanting one.

He's very awkward and geeky on WILTY. I'm not saying that his impairment amounts to a mental disorder - I'm merely saying that in comparison to most famous entertainers, he's unsually geeky and socially awkward. He doesn't fit it on that show - he has a formal and intellectual way of speaking which is out of place for a frivolous comedy show about trivia - it's like he thinks he's on a highbrow show such as Only Connect. It shows that he's not a good improviser. Notice that he never does stand-up comedy. In scripted comedy such as the sketch shows and sitcoms with Robert Webb, he can rehearse and retake scenes. I'm not insulting him. I'm merely pointing out his limitations. I'm a big fan of Peep Show. Like I said, he couldn't get a girlfriend until he was in his mid-30s, despite desperately trying to and being a famous millionaire.

I really loved the look of the first season, I remember those helmet cam scenes, that weren't always looking at the speaker made sense, was realistic, made the show cool

Nah, the humour, characters and situations were what made the show. To be honest, the biggest advantage of the pov was that it allowed the audience to hear what the characters were thinking which led to some of the funniest lines.

Norbert Tóth, it wasn't just the POV alone, it was the characters, writing and situations the characters were in that made the show too. It was a mixture of all.

Imagine it filmed like a regular sitcom would be weird. But yeah the main advantage to the pov are the internal monologues which Peep Show really couldn't go without.

It was probably strapped to his head and in a fixed position. He likely didn't correct him because it'd have been awkward, after the audience laughed.

When I stumbled onto Peep Show I just thought this was how TV was filmed over there, didn't realize it was something specific for this show, guess the name didn't tip me off and it was a random Netflix find so I didn't know the history. Maaaan I thought it was a stupid show at first. But I was sick and needed something to bing watch. Now I firmly believe it's the best show ever in the history of TV. I'm glad I decided to give it more of a chance. I literally watch it every single day. Maybe I just have a sad life.

My brother in law also loves peep show and we talk about it a lot. But my sister (his wife) absolutely hated the pov aspect of the show and didn't get it. She's very intelligent but seriously couldn't figure out who was supposed to be talking and when? Lol.

Have to disagree. In filmography it conveys quite a lot. Despite it being harder it doesn't necessarily make it an inferior type of shot.

Of course not, but what David was really getting at was that it's shit in terms of difficulty to do. No one can deny that Peep Show was what it was because of the filming style and Peep Show was amazing.

+Xian Icarus Peepshow would still be just as great without POV, as the whole thing, premise, story, character, writing etc. is fantastic. But the POV is an amazing aspect too.

God, I hate this show. I think Mitchell and Webb sketch work is among the greatest ever produced, but this show is just tosh. It's a very British thing - to have relentlessly unlikable, pathetic, unhappy people scrape through their pointless, joyless lives, and think that that is funny.
