I met Eli Weisel before he passed. He came to our school to speak about the horrors he witnessed. The rage he felt. The intense sorrow. I have yet to see any grown man stand on his own two feet and cry so broken about anything. He told us all "Never forget this."

Maybe you were not born in the 1920's but maybe you never heard nor felt the rage of 5 million Africans from 1865 - 1965: withoutsanctuary.org as whole towns were destroyed that had segregated and educated professionals in the riots of Tulsa, Jupitor FLA, Topeka Kansas, etc.

My great grandfather was a German solider of the Nazi party. He deserted the army and fled to France before coming to America and marrying a native American woman. They had 8 children. The youngest being my grandfather and he had 16 children with my grandma, my father being the youngest of his children. So many of the Nazis didn't believe in their regime or what they were doing but they weren't brave enough to fight and die for the right thing. So many people suffered because of cowardice. Everyone needs to stand up against everyone injustice and evil so this never happens again.

In class we actually talked to a son of a Nazi, and he told us about what his father told him....we too talked to a Auschwitz surviver. We visited Auschwitz and it’s hard to describe the feeling there. Germany don’t forget...not even the tv does. Daily documentaries are showing about Auschwitz.

icy dawn please tell me you are kidding unlike the trump and his supporters I have not met any democratic politician encourage the beating and murder of innocents. Trump forced children away from their parents into separate camps to the point where several holocaust survivors spoke out in warning!!! One of your politicians beat the Crap out of a camera man and the posted it as a joke on Fox News and you think we are the problem?! Heck even at its base being liberal is equality and sanctuary while you people scream about your guns and keeping people out. The irony in what you all speak is ridiculous!!! @icy dawn Whoa.... persecution complex much????? Very few progressives "hate" those who chose to support Mr. Trump: that is a myth perpetuated by those who wish to justify their choice by any means possible. What bothers me the most about the most ardent supporters of people like "45", is that many of them, such as yourself, claim to believe in the most INSANE conspiracy theories possible - "FEMA camps"????? YIKES!!! There is ZERO solid, well-verified evidence to support ANY of these conspiracy stories, which serve the purpose of frightening people so that they will believe lies such as "Islam is not a real religion: its a political system whose goal is to take over the world", and "Dark-skinned people are inferior to light-skinned ones: they deserve to be treated as less than fully human.", and "Massive tax cuts for the super-wealthy and giant corporations are GOOD for the economy." Please try to dilligently search for what is true, and what is lies and propaganda: do this with a completely open mind, however: if you search for truth with your mind already biased or made up, you will never find it.

I met a survivor of Auschwitz in the summer of 1994, when i was a ‘twentysomething.’ I was sharing a noon meal with a female acquaintance. A short man walked by our table, she stopped him for a chat. After about a minute, he crossed his arms at his waist. When he saw my eyes widen at the tattoo on his outer left forearm, he angled his body so i could get a better look (i think he was surprised that someone as young as me knew what it was, but he said nothing). Me, ‘which camp?’ He, ‘Auschwitz.’ Me, ‘how many in your family were murdered?” He, ‘74.’ He didn’t want to accept my condolences, but the acquaintance knew me well enough to say, ‘she means it.’

oh my god…….Tova Friedman’s mother…….was…….I don’t have words to describe just how incredible she was from what Tova has spoke of her……I hav tears after realizing the brilliance of tht woman……not only was she intelligent she was the kind of mother EVERY family needs……. usually maternal instincts forces a mother to get her guard up and be all aggressive or scared towards perpetrators…….but Tova’s mom……..she only thot abt ensuring her daughter survives, and what it wud take for Tova to survive, one…perfectly…planned…step at a time…….. it’s unfortunate tht the trauma she endured made her unable to survive in a time after liberation, and it hurts tht we couldn’t get her testimonial…….but I shall remember her till the day I die……and I will spread word of her greatness……..she was a Wonder Woman

It's important to teach children this events. To teach to be human and not kill others. When I was a child at school, we had a visit by a survivor from a concentration camp, that is the most vivid memory I have from school, because the tale was so terrifying. I always try to remember what Anne Frank said; "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." And we must remember to love and not hate. Even if you are angry, anger doesn't need to be acted upon and turned into a policy of national hatred. Every day we make a choice to love or hate, all we have to do is stop and wonder what it would be like to walk a mile in that person's shoes. It really is very simple 🙏♥️

its not just about us germans, thats why it is so imprortant for everyone to teach this kind of history. We should never think in boarders. There is no such thing as evil germans or now evil russians. The real nazis werent elected 1933 with an agenda of killing all the jews. The nation was deeply devided, just like the usa today, many people were poor and just hoped to live a better live. And suddenly everything florished. the concentration camps were later build and altough the majority of the germans knew about it, they closed their eyes or were "cowards" oir simply afraid to be arrested or killed themselves for standing up. in a system were your neighbor can call the police on you and is most likely believed without evidence its incredibly hard to say something so they protected themselves and their family by keeping quiet. Some germans hided jewish people to protect them, some germans went to prison for protesting. Most of men had to fight in the war. Its a very complicated topic. My grandma for example is not evil, but she still talks about the fact how good a lot of things were back then. Its very hard for me to understand why she still says she didnt knew what was going on in the concentration camps. Russia right now is the best example. familys are devided there because the young people are against putin especially in the big citys were education, information, political views are different from the poorer parts outside. Putin arrested most of them and silenced the rest. propaganda is a major instrument for the evil as well. Look what we all here did to africa and our colonies, the dutch, the britains, the americans and what for? for wealth! Thats the reason why we all should be aware what might happen when the economy will continue to shrink - the right wing will rise even more. I am thankfull for peace and that germany is so open about this topic. In 11th grade on highschool we had to watch a documentary about the naked, thin and dead bodies of the jews beeing thrown in holes. most of us cried, some had to go outside to fresh air. Its horrible what humans can be capable of but we also can be very open, careful and protective and we can learn if we dont forget. Sry for the text but if you are really interested in why "we" let this happen go to the ARTE Channel. They have the ordinary peoples diaries from 1933 with visual content, why hitler was even elected in the first place. They have a video about evil woman who contributed. Many people still do believe that only men can be pure evil.

That is a good question. I would add them if I could but the option isn't there. Quite disappointing for a major news agency.

David Muir's job has apparently become more difficult and serious than before. I feel stupid, childish when I watch his reporting these days.

The world knows that children were separated from their parent at the Mexico border. Inhumane vs Illegal, you decide.

You're actually comparing this to illegals aliens being caught sneaking across the border?! You're pathetic!
@cynthiamacias2611
@cynthiamacias2611 4 года назад
It is not a crime to ask for asylum. No one is illegal...you may say undocumented. The pint being made here is that parents and children were seperated with no plan for reunification. It is the basis for evil.
@FLguy01

@@cynthiamacias2611 You see that's where you're wrong. Being a citizen of another country, if you sneak across the border of any other country, you're doing so illegally...and since you're under the false belief that no one is illegal, I suggest you read the following: 8 U.S. Code § 1325.Improper entry by alien By the way, the majority of people sneaking across the border aren't doing so to claim asylum.. For those who actually want to claim asylum, they need to do it through the proper channels..i.e. go through ports of entry per the U.S. Attorney General.

If an officer catches you in the act of a felony, if your kids are with you? You get separated from your children. Period. Another big thing is America isn't enslaving them, nor killing anyone.
