I met Eli Weisel before he passed. He came to our school to speak about the horrors he witnessed. The rage he felt. The intense sorrow. I have yet to see any grown man stand on his own two feet and cry so broken about anything. He told us all "Never forget this."
desertpunksunabozu That book was very well written. Horrible that it had to be for the purpose that it was, but So So eye opening. Made me cry with him.
Maybe you were not born in the 1920's but maybe you never heard nor felt the rage of 5 million Africans from 1865 - 1965: withoutsanctuary.org as whole towns were destroyed that had segregated and educated professionals in the riots of Tulsa, Jupitor FLA, Topeka Kansas, etc.
I don't know how she found the courage to do it, unless she wanted to see the actual place her family and friends lost their lives...out of respect for them.
And to think that there are people out there in the world who support this kind of crime against humanity is the reason I lost all my faith in humanity.
My great grandfather was a German solider of the Nazi party. He deserted the army and fled to France before coming to America and marrying a native American woman. They had 8 children. The youngest being my grandfather and he had 16 children with my grandma, my father being the youngest of his children. So many of the Nazis didn't believe in their regime or what they were doing but they weren't brave enough to fight and die for the right thing. So many people suffered because of cowardice. Everyone needs to stand up against everyone injustice and evil so this never happens again.
Thankfully none of my family that i know of were Nazis but i have plenty of german blood in me on my mother's side but i also have a Jewish grandmother on my father's side of the family. Sometimes talking about the family history at the family gatherings get awkward.
The children who r adults right now I have something to say "you are not a number you r a person with feeling." You need remember you family and friends. God bless everyone who survived this tragedy and rip the one's who tried there hardest to protect their children.🙏🙏
God bless these beautiful strong children and now ladies and gentlemen. Thank you so much for sharing your stories, I can only imagine how difficult it must be to talk about it. Xx
I listened to Tovas story and I was amazed what she and her family went through, I can't imagine how at the tender age of 5 the things she saw and had to live with and also when she said she was going to the cremetriom broke my heart how can kids live through all that!! These brave ppl as kids what they went through and now as adults my heart goes out to them!! ❤️🙏
I am sorry for those people....feel terrible as a German, as we learn so freaking much about this. We don’t really have world history, just ww2, ww1, german separation. In class we actually talked to a son of a Nazi, and he told us about what his father told him....we too talked to a Auschwitz surviver. We visited Auschwitz and it’s hard to describe the feeling there. Germany don’t forget...not even the tv does. Daily documentaries are showing about Auschwitz.
Every time I see stuff like this with Jewish people.... it's bloody hard to comprehend how people can hate a nation of inspiring people... totally saddened by this and never will forget the truth :(
icy dawn please tell me you are kidding unlike the trump and his supporters I have not met any democratic politician encourage the beating and murder of innocents. Trump forced children away from their parents into separate camps to the point where several holocaust survivors spoke out in warning!!! One of your politicians beat the Crap out of a camera man and the posted it as a joke on Fox News and you think we are the problem?! Heck even at its base being liberal is equality and sanctuary while you people scream about your guns and keeping people out. The irony in what you all speak is ridiculous!!! I don’t know how you get through life so blind.
@icy dawn Whoa.... persecution complex much????? Very few progressives "hate" those who chose to support Mr. Trump: that is a myth perpetuated by those who wish to justify their choice by any means possible. What bothers me the most about the most ardent supporters of people like "45", is that many of them, such as yourself, claim to believe in the most INSANE conspiracy theories possible - "FEMA camps"????? YIKES!!! There is ZERO solid, well-verified evidence to support ANY of these conspiracy stories, which serve the purpose of frightening people so that they will believe lies such as "Islam is not a real religion: its a political system whose goal is to take over the world", and "Dark-skinned people are inferior to light-skinned ones: they deserve to be treated as less than fully human.", and "Massive tax cuts for the super-wealthy and giant corporations are GOOD for the economy." Please try to dilligently search for what is true, and what is lies and propaganda: do this with a completely open mind, however: if you search for truth with your mind already biased or made up, you will never find it.
I met a survivor of Auschwitz in the summer of 1994, when i was a ‘twentysomething.’ I was sharing a noon meal with a female acquaintance. A short man walked by our table, she stopped him for a chat. After about a minute, he crossed his arms at his waist. When he saw my eyes widen at the tattoo on his outer left forearm, he angled his body so i could get a better look (i think he was surprised that someone as young as me knew what it was, but he said nothing). Me, ‘which camp?’ He, ‘Auschwitz.’ Me, ‘how many in your family were murdered?” He, ‘74.’ He didn’t want to accept my condolences, but the acquaintance knew me well enough to say, ‘she means it.’
@AB100 well that rude to say my friend. & thats not Nonsense. I can not control weather i cry or not. Im glad they showd this story, cause then i wouldnt be able to imagine visually what they went through. Its nice to know that other people in this world could care about you even if u dont know them yourself. So why do you try to put me down? Ive done nothing to you, & im pretty sure you've probly done the same to others. I did not askd to be judged. & yet u did! So now i judge you lul Anyway quit judging people like that its rude & kills folks spirits. I could of responded to your comment by crying. But no i did not. I chose to stqnd up for myself. So quit it. And have a nice day random person on the internet
So soo horible and sad I just can't even imagine what the people went through ! My heart goes out to everyone that had to experience the horror and sadness god bless you all . It will always haunt my mind and heart forever ! How and why did this have to of happened????????? 💔💔❤❤❤
oh my god…….Tova Friedman’s mother…….was…….I don’t have words to describe just how incredible she was from what Tova has spoke of her……I hav tears after realizing the brilliance of tht woman……not only was she intelligent she was the kind of mother EVERY family needs……. usually maternal instincts forces a mother to get her guard up and be all aggressive or scared towards perpetrators…….but Tova’s mom……..she only thot abt ensuring her daughter survives, and what it wud take for Tova to survive, one…perfectly…planned…step at a time…….. it’s unfortunate tht the trauma she endured made her unable to survive in a time after liberation, and it hurts tht we couldn’t get her testimonial…….but I shall remember her till the day I die……and I will spread word of her greatness……..she was a Wonder Woman
My great grandfather and great grandmother moved to America from Germany before World War 2. My great grandfather fought on the Americans side and strongly disagreed against what they were doing because him and his family were also Jewish. I’m disgusted by the fact that people still support this to this day.
I read a book that her brother or maybe one of her siblings wrote called until we meet again. Great book. It brought tears to me and it was a story I could never forget. My Russian room mate gave it to me.
NSM 88. org what does that have to do with anything? What a have noticed is that anti semites argue but whenever I ask for links to their truth they either disappear or send me some bullshit link
I’m so sorry from the bottom of my heart for everything you all went through! It was before my time and I can’t believe this ever happened wow just wow
My great grandmother somehow survived Auschwitz and the subsequent death march. She wrote a letter describing her experience but I didn’t get to read it yet but it’ll be very hard. My great grandfather never spoke about it. Half of my great grandparents went through the holocaust the other half fought the Nazis either in the British or soviet militaries.
It's important to teach children this events. To teach to be human and not kill others. When I was a child at school, we had a visit by a survivor from a concentration camp, that is the most vivid memory I have from school, because the tale was so terrifying. From that moment I've understood how lucky I was to be free and that I should spread knowledge of the facts.
Absolutely heartbreaking unimaginable fear and helplessness these poor souls must have felt. God Bless these Beautiful People forever. God Bless all the Jewish People who were murdered
I always try to remember what Anne Frank said; "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." And we must remember to love and not hate. Even if you are angry, anger doesn't need to be acted upon and turned into a policy of national hatred. Every day we make a choice to love or hate, all we have to do is stop and wonder what it would be like to walk a mile in that person's shoes. It really is very simple 🙏♥️
Bless you for remaining hopeful in the face of so much that would take away hope!! ALL of us have both good and evil inside us, and we are all capable of doing very good or very evil things, given the right circumstances. However, if we were all as optimistic and kind-hearted as you are, the evil parts would shrink and seldom be seen!!
Some of my Dad Fred White's family members died in the Holocaust. My Dad, Fred White was born on April 23, 1917, and he was in the NAVY during World War 2. There are exhibits at some of the museums for documents that are kept on file for family members of people who died in the Holocaust. There is also a genealogy research library at some of the Jewish centers. My Dad, Fred White's gravesite is located at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York in Long Island.
That is so sad poor children but don't worry the people that did that will suffer they did not have a good life RIP to the children and the family that did not make it you don't have to suffer no more 😭😥😭
The Ones Who Remember: Second Generation Voices of the Holocaust. As the Holocaust survivors among us become more frail and pass on, we must ensure their stories and legacies continue. We must keep our promises to them. a great-granddaughter of Holocaust survivor - Some of my Dad Fred White's family members died in the Holocaust in Europe
@parrotprodigy productions had to think of the Pinochet regime in Chile. I'm sure there's been a lot of regimes doing brutal stuff, it's rarely been so organised though (as by the Nazis).
Socialists !!! Socialists take away your rights . Democrats in the USA are trying to do this now and they are already starting with the anti Semite rhetoric . Don’t believe me go look at that pos Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib tweets
My heart breaks for the little girl in the middle with the scarf next to Tova 1:35, her face has been haunting me and I wanna know who she was and what happened to her, does anyone know?
@@somaa2331 idk but she was already around late 70s or 80s and she killed herself because she couldn’t anymore which to me I’m shook at how strong she was to wait so long without committing suicide but sad she couldn’t recover but if you want to know more search Tova and her last name on RU-vid and put Holocaust survivor it’s the long hour video and she talks about her close to the end.
At that time it was rumors many Germans never believed it.we always forget it was state sponsored program and very secretive and what could they do anyway ethnic Germans too were oppressed in a way
its not just about us germans, thats why it is so imprortant for everyone to teach this kind of history. We should never think in boarders. There is no such thing as evil germans or now evil russians. The real nazis werent elected 1933 with an agenda of killing all the jews. The nation was deeply devided, just like the usa today, many people were poor and just hoped to live a better live. And suddenly everything florished. the concentration camps were later build and altough the majority of the germans knew about it, they closed their eyes or were "cowards" oir simply afraid to be arrested or killed themselves for standing up. in a system were your neighbor can call the police on you and is most likely believed without evidence its incredibly hard to say something so they protected themselves and their family by keeping quiet. Some germans hided jewish people to protect them, some germans went to prison for protesting. Most of men had to fight in the war. Its a very complicated topic. My grandma for example is not evil, but she still talks about the fact how good a lot of things were back then. Its very hard for me to understand why she still says she didnt knew what was going on in the concentration camps. Russia right now is the best example. familys are devided there because the young people are against putin especially in the big citys were education, information, political views are different from the poorer parts outside. Putin arrested most of them and silenced the rest. propaganda is a major instrument for the evil as well. Look what we all here did to africa and our colonies, the dutch, the britains, the americans and what for? for wealth! Thats the reason why we all should be aware what might happen when the economy will continue to shrink - the right wing will rise even more. I am thankfull for peace and that germany is so open about this topic. In 11th grade on highschool we had to watch a documentary about the naked, thin and dead bodies of the jews beeing thrown in holes. most of us cried, some had to go outside to fresh air. Its horrible what humans can be capable of but we also can be very open, careful and protective and we can learn if we dont forget. Sry for the text but if you are really interested in why "we" let this happen go to the ARTE Channel. They have the ordinary peoples diaries from 1933 with visual content, why hitler was even elected in the first place. They have a video about evil woman who contributed. Many people still do believe that only men can be pure evil.
An insane worldview lol. If the US state, the most powerful state in the history of the world, decides to come after you, no amount of guns will help you.
@subcomandante marcos Do you... do you comprehend the difference between the US state invading another state half-way across the world and an individual American thinking having guns protects him from his govt rather than active political participation lol?
I dont understand how people today can say this never happened. "They"say the people who were there are lying.i know this happened. It wss pure evil I have been to Dachau. I could sense something bad had happened there.. I did not want to go in.
Sounds like had the Soviets NOT closed in...there would be NO survivors......Those terrible Soviets...lol...liberated my father's village in WW2 also.....Thank you Mother Russia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is not a crime to ask for asylum. No one is illegal...you may say undocumented. The pint being made here is that parents and children were seperated with no plan for reunification. It is the basis for evil.
@@cynthiamacias2611 You see that's where you're wrong. Being a citizen of another country, if you sneak across the border of any other country, you're doing so illegally...and since you're under the false belief that no one is illegal, I suggest you read the following: 8 U.S. Code § 1325.Improper entry by alien By the way, the majority of people sneaking across the border aren't doing so to claim asylum.. For those who actually want to claim asylum, they need to do it through the proper channels..i.e. go through ports of entry per the U.S. Attorney General.
If an officer catches you in the act of a felony, if your kids are with you? You get separated from your children. Period. Another big thing is America isn't enslaving them, nor killing anyone.
