I see the charismatic "slain in the spirit" experience as a strong delusion. Those who fell to the ground in scripture always experienced a divine encounter with God. Today, falling down is just falling down. It is a cheap substitute offered by Satan.
Revered prophecy teacher David Pawson teaches the 2nd coming is a singular visit! He boldly states there are not 2 or 3 second comings. He insists the Word of God and His armies will come like a thief in the night at the battle of Armageddon. (Rev 16:14-16; 19:11-21) Which means the coming of the Son of Man,(Mat 24:30-39), like Noah and Lot (Luke 17:26-30), which comes before the Day of the Lord (God’s wrath against the wicked) (Mat 24:37-39) and the Word of God at the supper of the great God, Armageddon, which comes after the wrath of God is over, are the same event! Not to mention of the physical return of the Holy One (Messiah) (Heb.9:28, Rom. 11:25-27, Acts 1:6-11, Dan. 9:24, Rev 10:1-7) and the descent of the bride with the Lamb of God (Rev 21:9-10) are also the same event. Clearly the Word of God won’t be coming like a thief in the night to a demolished world, the cities have fallen, the oceans rivers and lakes are infected and 2/3 of mankind are dead, at the supper of the great God! What’s sad is the huge crowd listening to Pawson are hanging on every word he teaches. The discernment is tragically absent. Why?
+Paul Bortolazzo Scholarly theologians have a good bases for differing views of the second coming, supported by sound proofs. Of course, they can't all be right. Even if Pawson is correct, no one knows the exact day or hour, surprise! I'm neither pre-nor post simply pro. (Hat tip Don Whetstine) Who could be right about every single doctrine? Christianity is exemplified per love and forbearance of others’ beliefs. You insinuate that the majority, if not all, Pawson's listeners are brain-washed, unthinking sheeple. Do you believe that any one denomination has complete understanding of all Biblical doctrines ?
