I had the great joy as a kid to see David perform many times in Boulder, CO. on Pearl St. He was AMAZING! He'd get the crowd on the mall involved in his skits, and literally play in traffic. On pearl St. there is a brick pedestrian mall that cars drive across after yielding at the stop sign. He'd go up to cars at the stop sign and mime washing their windows, or write them an invisible ticket, or get the crowd to pretend they were all on a bus he was driving... which he would drive to be blocking the cars in the crosswalk, and then "get out" of the bus leaving all the people there in the crosswalk. The cops would get called, it was the best thing going at the time on the mall. I went on to take a mime class from him at the Community Free School in Boulder. He's been a great influential force in my life by doing the things he did, the way he did them. Thanks so much for posting this interview!
