David Spade is just a normal guy. He's cool. My wife saw him at a casino in Vegas and the security guards were yelling at people and pushing people out of the way and David goes dude, come on, I'm not that important.
Rusty Shackleford David is a liberal and i dont know if you can and I’m sure he’s not your average “working white man” and has more money than some of those politicians
I think Kevin might have been joking? Cause, you can’t call it paranoia when you’re THAT famous and you actually get death threats from crazy people, and super stalky ass fans. Joking or not, if you don’t have a firearm to protect yourself in the land of firearms... you calling a gun owner paranoid, who was attacked by his own assistant and used it (or the announcement that he had the gun, and would shoot him.) to save his own life paranoid. You know why this wasn’t all over the news? ......positive gun story.
He says to the cops "well he's not in the drawers...no need to search everywhere"😂😂 so funny off the cuff... people underestimate David Spade but he is so God damn funny in just normal banter...his episodes of norms podcast and show are prime examples of how funny he is.
Yeah, my husband is 6’3” and I’m 5’1”. Whenever I’m mad and try to walk ahead, he just walks at his normal pace and catches up instantly, and I can’t be dramatic unless I want to run.
Seeing David Spade in any kind of live interview makes you realize that he was basically just playing himself in most of his movies. He’s great off the cuff.
LOVE you both. Anytime I watch David Spade in any capacity, at some point he always says something that makes me snort laugh. He is a genuinely down to earth and honest dude. Love him.
"I can't believe David Spade keeps a loaded shotgun . . ." It seems to me he was completely justified in keeping a loaded shotgun. Turns out he needed it.
You know what I love about these hikes? No one is asking for anything, just people being normal and putting out good stuff to the world....I appreciate that, Thanks Kevin
Aaawa!! I totally loved this. Spade was like a kid throughout the hike. He explored, played, danced and did the jogging motion with his arms! I am thankful for David and Kevin. The laughter you brought us all throughout the years👏🏼👏🏼🏆😇❤️❤️
@Athena That might just be their dynamic, I obviously don't know them though. Plus it was still a hilarious episode. My favorite actually, I think just because of how annoyed Spade was. He's witty af.
@@julius518 I think Norm has a way of annoying just about everyone, lol! It's his purposeful lack of care regarding social cues that makes him so funny and at times uncomfortable to watch! 😀
Spade is my favorite comic, talk show host and Hollywood person. Love his sense dry sense of humor. And he's a natural. Doesn't need to write it to be funny.
man i never knew the full story of how his assistant tried to kill him. other people would mention it in interviews in the past but he never gave any details. that's a wild story
I used to have hijacked up Neck but I don't anymore. Would you rather be famous like him and have to live with the fear that a specific person wants you dad for the rest of your life? Or would you rather not be famous and not have a jacket up Neck? I can fix jacked up necks but somebody is famous as him is never going to get fixed because he is going to assume it can't be fixed because some moron doctor told him that. What a world
It's the situation of being successful for years and years and being used to everyone kissing your ass. Even when your movie bombs, everyone tells you 'its ok, people still love you, they marketed it wrong, your still a huge star!!' Then you turn on the TV to watch the show that got you your fandom and there's a 30 year old shitting on you. I get it. I don't defend it, but I get why he was so mad for so long.
i understand someone mentioning your name but 30 years!!!!! and one wonders why gang violence strikes randomly and without notice...across borders, etc.
I love the fact that David can laugh at himself. The biker said he was famous once, Nealon roasts him throughout and Spade just laughs and doesn't ever seem to get offended. Talks about his gf never dating anyone who got a colonoscopy like him. His books are full of these kinds of stories. He seems so unaffected. Cool and funny dude.
On Smartless he talked about when he bussed tables but wanted to be promoted to server so he would be allowed to talk to the patrons. He remembered his favorite quip that cracked up some guests and annoyed his boss.
. that one dude from the group of bicyclists was like, “is that Justin Bieber?” 😄 too bad David didn’t catch that, i would’ve loved to have seen his reaction
I've thought about this too. Kevin himself even mentions the reason why, I think, at the beginning when he talks about how so many people he sees on hikes are venting to their hiking partners. For whatever reason, walking briskly with somebody somehow lets people put their guards down and talk about stuff alot easier. Same as how eating crazy spicy food puts your guard down. I guess just sharing a meal with someone would have much the same effect as well.
Some quality jokes in here. They busted me up back to back, first Spade with the “he’s not in the drawers, you don’t have to check everything” and then Nealon with “he had no headache at all when they found him” 😆😆😆
Farley would have definitely made it funnier and done some awesome improvisation in there 2..kevin james was awesome in king of queens..but ever since it's like his schtick is the fat cluts..just played out
@@nathanlayman Kevin James would have still made it. But I wish Kevin would have kept his super jewwy last name. Why do a lot of Jews change their last name once they make it?? I figured having a jewwy name would bump you up a couple notches in Hollywood.
I love Farley and miss him. But Kevin James is one if not THE best comic actors of his generation. In King of Queens, he has nuances to his facial expressions and body language to sell jokes NO actor could or would even THINK to do. People fault him for NOT being Farley, not being good looking enough or being too fat or not tall enough or whatever. But he's probably the only actor who could have a dozen different comedic microexpressions inside of a few seconds while also being capable of going dramatic in a heartbeat. His body language seems learned from mime or inspired (probably unintentionally) from dance. Even Michael Richards (Kramer) couldn't pull off the facial expressions and physical comedy Kevin did. KOQ is an extremely UNDERATED masterful comedic performance. The Honeymooners episode they did, he was almost indistinguishable from Jackie Gleason and in fact was BETTER than Gleason IMO. I miss Farley. But James would've done a better job even if Farley were alive to be in GU 1+2. Because of Farley's drug use and impulse control problem, he could never have the comedic nuance to acting someone like Kevin does. Kevin is also probably able to bring MUCH more because of his MMA training and discipline. Sandler is smart enough to know this and is why he recognizes James talent. People mostly remember Farley because he was loud with huge gestures. But unfortunately, he had little nuance. It would've wore thin anyways.
Wow. Listening to Spade talk about the night his assistant attacked him is always kind of sobering - I'm sure he deals with at least a little PTSD from it. That was some serious shit. It's amazing he can (sort of) joke about it now. As usual - loved this episode! Felt like I was hanging out with the two of them and now we are buddies. I better get that f'ing part in Kevin's next movie or I don't know what I'll do
@@MagnumMuscle1000 According to imdb spade is 5 ft 7, so saying he has the height of an average 12 year old boy is not really accurate. The big height difference is just because Nealon is 6 ft 4.
Holy shit David's story about the assistant is insane. Like Michael from Halloween I hope they never have to transfer that guy to another facility. Always wondered about how assistants to famous people feel.. you know deep down there has to be jealousy and some resentment. That night could have gone so many different ways.. thank God David did what he did so he is still here today.
David was running on Olympic Blvd with what I assume was a security guard in the early 2000s. I was waiting for the bus, he stopped and made conversation with me. He was hilarious, and I'm laughing hard then he says "how old are you?" , I reply back "seventeen" and I kid you not he said in the most Davidesque tone "ummmmmmmm not going to go jail, so call me next year" and ran off. Still cracks me up, an honest and stand up guy.
Well you’re late 30’s now. Hit him up ! Lol. But seriously I feel like he’s always going for high school looking girls because he couldn’t get the hot ones when he WAS in high school. Now it’s like a smorgasbord! 😂😂
Love these hikes and David Spade never EVERRR fails to make me laugh!! So great to join the 2 of you! What a story David had today..I was glued to my laptop...so happy he lived. Thanks for sharing!
Why does it seem that alot of the comedian have social anxiety? They come across like the exact opposite. It weird how they work with it to produce great material.
A lot of comedians have been through some dark shit! A lot of the time its a survival skill. I've heard many stories about different comedians and their childhoods because I can relate.
Kevin's character on Weeds was some of his best work. He honestly made every scene he was in ten times funnier due to his playing off his co-stars; the genital wart episode was funny as fuck and sticks with me so many years later.
I think Kevin is right about "Hollywood Minute" being Spaide's best "character" on SNL. I still remember his line when he reviewed the movie Casino. (Spaide full mocking sarcasm voice) "Casino? Ca-SEEN-it ... it was called Goodfellas."
Lmao this is the funniest one yet.. David spade is hilarious 😆 I love the one with jack black he’s so down to earth and also hilarious.. awesome interview
This really humanized David Spade for me. I always figured Kevin for a mellow guy but DS just seemed very down to earth and relatable in this, unlike every character he ever played, except Joe Dirt (which I own). Thanks for the stories.
