David Suchet internalised Poirot's character, making him the only believable portrayal of Agatha's literary masterpiece. Other actors are of pale comparison to his artistry and skills. Bravo!!!

Amazing ! I'm French and I watch Poirot in English, I always thought the actor was a real French or Belgian !

That was fascinating to watch...He put as much importance on the voice as he did on the mannerisms, the walk, and the appearance. Truly a brilliant actor. Love every minute of him on film...He is perfection...of the kind his character demanded.

Sir David Suchet is to Hercule Poirot what Jeremy Brett was to Sherlock Holmes - definitive, incomparable, and unforgettable. Absolutely brilliant.

Fascinating, this is why I think real old fashioned actors are amazing. They do research and delve into the layers of their character.

The key thing a great actor does with a figure like Poirot is he invests him with a real character. He's not a collection of mannerisms and a few physical attributes: he's a real person: the culmination of an entire life. Even though it's barely mentioned in the books or scripts, I bet you David could tell you all about Poirot's life as a police inspector in Belgium, about his childhood, his education, his personal life, his early successes and disappointments. He was given a role; he created a human being. And that, more than anything, is where the actor is a creative artist. The creation begins and ends in the actors head: the techniques are used to transmit that reality to the audience.

His original voice is so beautifully masculine and sexy. He's truly a genius and a hard working actor!

That is AMAZING!!! Not only is he changing his apperance, the manner of walking and the accent, but also the tone of his voice! Yes, he really IS one and olny Hercule Poirot!

I can't watch anyone else as Poirot. Even when some of the plotlines of the episodes get confusing or the other actors are a bit green, David Suchet's Poirot is captivating. I recently tried watching the 2017 Murder On The Orient Express and while it had its positives, it all felt like a performance. With Suchet the character never feels like a performance, he just IS Poirot and that's that. I actually think the 1974 Orient Express film is the best written/directed overall (I watched it as a child so I am also biased by nostalgia, but I do think it does the best job of building suspense) but isolating the Poirot character alone, Suchet's is champion, and always will be. I see that Branagh's Death On The Nile is coming out in 2020 and I will be interested to see it, but I really don't think any actor for the rest of time will be able to top Suchet as Poirot. Certainly Branagh is very talented and gave a strong performance in the 2017 Orient Express film, but it was still a performance and not the total embodiment of the character that David Suchet has managed to accomplish.

I noticed in earlier Poirots that his voice was a little lower at the start of the series and then later it seem to travel upwards a bit.🙌

His attention to detail and passion for playing Poirot is pathological, and it definitely shows in his performance. It never ceases to amaze me how many little things Davis Suchet did to go above and beyond the call of duty to get his portrayal of Poirot just right.
