When David Sylvian looked back on his entire musical output for the compilation Everything and Nothing, he decided to re-record his vocals for a few tracks as well as remix and remaster them. Although Brilliant Trees was not technically part of that compilation, the version with newly recorded vocals was included on the EP released with the limited edition of the album as disc 3. The vocals sound evidently more mature but overall the song remains as haunting as the original version released in 1984.
