Thank you for discovering my Music and finding it smooth and graceful! (I try to keep it that way :-) When I play the Guitar, I think of it or myself as a Vocalist singing through the Guitar and keeping it simple. Sometimes less is more :-) You can check my Facebook for brands, models and the years that I used those Guitars, but I am currently using Custom made Guitar, and I used Gibson Byrdland and Artex (no longer available) with Lou Rawls.
Thank you David T you have inspired me for years. Was in a band with Buzz Cooper he told me to play like you,and told us about the Kinfolks band Richard Waters,Tracy Wright.Indeed your guitar can sing!
Sitting back in my easy chair, watching the rain falling slowly from the sky, sipping on a cup of coffee, listening to Mr. David T. Walker. I wouldn't have it any other way. Won't you join me?
David T Walker, my favourite guitarist of all time. Have been in love with your work for a long time and am hugely inspired by the nuances of your style. Thank you for everything 🎶
My Gratitude to you for your Kind words about my style being inspiring, inventive and my voice singing through the guitar. The human voice is my favorite instrument and I have practiced/played the guitar as if I am singing :-)
Arigato for remembering me from Kagoshima, Japan in 1982 :-) I remember that Concert and City! My song Y-ence is one of my favorite jazz ballads I have written and I appreciate you listening to it over and over again plus feeling it as good music and your words are good inspiration for me!
Doumo Arigato for enjoying my performances. It is very nice of you to let me know that you learned strength and what a gentleman is by my playing and you saw me at PIT INN 22 years ago! May I say You have my Gratitude.
Mr. Walker, this is outstanding -.LOVE IT! Got lucky when I was young and saw many superlative guitarists - from Joe Pass, George Benson and Mick Goodrick to John Abercrombie, John Scofield and Charlie Hunter (who sounds like a Hammond B-3 on his seven string) rock the house back in the day.
There are countless amazing guitar players but it’s the first time I’ve heard a conversation between the player and his guitar . David to Walker walk on water . Mark baker
@@MrDavidTWalker thank you so much for your reply David , totally unexpected. As I write this I’m mesmerised watching you play “what’s going on “ with Bernard Purdue , Chuck Rainey , and the gang in Japan . David how on earth did you manage to amaze the world with that mesmerising performance? Even mr Purdie couldn’t believe what he was witnessing. And I could see the rest of that magnificent ensemble of talent with their jaws on the floor .
Needles to say You have my Gratitude for your Heartfelt words and feelings about this musical contribution of mine. I am very Happy to know it brings Joy to you and listeners I would like very much to visit San Francisco and the bay area!
Hi Mr Walker . Yes it’s me again and goodness a year since I last posted . Hope you are keeping well and safe . All is good here in Australia, hope the same in your part of the world . 🎶 🎸 🎶🎸🎶
nothing like watching a man sing with his fingers and hands, the sight of someone with no mind in past or future. Just the notes. The little run when it goes minor after the first chorus is brilliantly primal.
Mister Walker, you always thank your fans for the expression of their feelings about your incredibly soulful music, but for once, I'd like to thank YOU for the feelings you share through your guitar. Those are your feelings and your guitar is your way to share them with the music world. Thank you for all this love !
Nobody plays melodies like this. His picking and vibrato are not just unique, they make you want to keep listening because David T. draws you into his music with his soul.
Yes, he draws out the beauty and soul of the melody. For one thing, he begins by choosing top quality songs. Then he fills them, surrounds them with his own musical imagination and flair without suffocating or pushing the melody to the side.
+MrTriple3 It is very Generous and Thoughtful of you to speak to me with such an encouraging compliment on my artistry. I will use this energy to "Press On"!
My family is from State of Maine and I grew up in Central Maine in a family of Musicians. My grandmother, Marie Jeanne Lacombe (Veilleux) a professional Piano player who played throughout Canada, Maine, New England and for her Church introduced me to this Band and David T Walker. I just fell in love with the music, passion in each song and piece of music. They truly respected each other and have such love for what they do. My grandmother was like this. She'd play the Piano and I never saw her without a smile on her face as she played. Thank you for this Music. Battling Cancer sucks and each day is a struggle but, I listen to your Music and watch these Videos and it helps. Bless you all! Thank you for the passion in what you do.....It gets right in to the Soul. Psalm 46:10 BE STILL.....
Yes, music brings a smile to your face and healing powers. It has always brought a smile within my heart and soul. I am happy to know you understand and feel that. I am glad to know that my humble contribution to music is helpful.
I appreciate your very Kind words and feelings on being able to listen to this kind of music and my humble contributions musically over and over, plus yes ... I can also perform these feelings over and over again and I do :-)
I am very Pleased that I can be an Inspiration in your life and music! You have just added, contributed inspiration to me also, by your thoughtful kind words. And I Hope to visit Germany again someday and gather more Soul and Love I have always found there, Thank You!
i will definitely be watching for you to come around the Windy City. less is more is a great way to describe your style. Yet each note is so clear and euphonious. I'd love to see you at a place like the City Winery
It takes a bit of guts to even attempt a Marvin Gaye or Stevie Wonder song. (Even instrumentally!) Mission accomplished. A soulful rendition of a wonderful song. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your suggestion and interest! I have considered doing a demonstration or instructional video. Maybe sometime in the future! You can check out my website for all the records I have played on. I always create my part, without exception. To demonstrate how I think, the only thing I can say is it comes to me naturally by Feeling the context of the song or the Artist and how I feel on that day :-)
You know Larry Carlton and probably know Robben Ford as well. They could introduce you to Truefire (located in Tampa FL) which is a great learning platform. It would be nice if you could do a course with them.

Totally tripped out to this and I'm as sober as a door knob :D So glad to see a legend from the glory days of soul and funk is still around making great music. Love the tone. Wishing you all the best for many more years to come. Rock on man.
Salvation to my ears. Such sweet guitar and sweet drums. I implore to want more and not just some. 2 of my all time favorite musicians on stage together. My eyes grasping the notes and chords of David T Walker's playing, having faith i too can chop that well, so hearers can feel what i'm spiritually saying. This is SUPER SWEET MARVELOUS!!!!!!!!
Your compliment to my Sound as being Super Sweet & Marvelous does and will continue to help me stay Spiritually Dressed! This is part of my salvation & Energy! You have My Gratitude for feeling me and speaking on it.
That awesomely unique style, of Mr. David T. Walker, also helped the late Barry White to propel his love songs to a heaven-like state. I never been to heaven, but the music gives us a clue. The magnificent 70's produced some of the best music ever heard...of all time. And we have the likes of, Mr. David T. Walker, to give thanks for that. Beautiful song. Beautiful performance. Beautiful artist.
Wow, sorry to say I'd never heard of you before seeing this, but now I'm hooked! Your phrasing is incredible and I could only dream of techniques such as yours. Thank you.

I can’t even begin to say what this Video means to me. I’m (once again … ;) in a very sad and depressing point in my life (just broke up with my girl …) but this just makes me smile every time I listen / watch it. Mr Walker, thank you for sharing your incredible gift with me and lighten up my days. You really do.
What keeps me coming back to your videos Mr. Walker, is that I love that you enjoy playing..! On this one like Michael Jordan , you were in the zone.....!!!
I have been very Fortunate to know and work with many talented Artists such as "Marvin Gaye" and Yes, I have listened to Him and his phrasing of melodies along with hundreds of others that have inspired, influenced my playing by being there (or singing through the Guitar!
