@Jake Harmon Kids already got a contract with the UFC making more money than he ever would have in wrestling. Already 3-0 without taking a single hit. I'd say he's doing fine.
There is no shame in losing to David Taylor. He’s literally as good as it gets , the absolute highest level of wrestling that exists on earth currently
Crazy watching guys like Bo who absolutely dominated everyone in college then graduate and get beat up by guys who have been on the world stage for a few years. There are levels to this shit!
Same way with running. I was a 5 time D2 All-American in track and cross-country and had a great collegiate career. Then I went to the professional cross country and road races after college and got my ass handed to me. Those Kenyans will eat you up on a 1/2 marathon road course, no joke. They run a a huge pack about 10 guys and they don’t slow down and after 3 miles I was done! Those guys will go run 46 minutes flat for 10 miles and think nothing of it! Anyway, yes, professional athletics is serious business and no joke. Running with professional caliber athletes has changed my perception of what good really is.
@@Diego-Delgado not always true tho;Corey Anderson was a d 2 wrestling champion, went mma nov.2022 fighting for a championship and a million dollars, pay day.One of my boys wrestled him in high school, and did well. He went from a chubby kid to an absolute beast!!
I always hated that when I was wrestling. My team didn’t have many guys between 171-215 in high school and me and my friend wrestled 215 and 189 we wrestled each other pretty much multiple times each day and our matches would never have much happen cuz we knew each other’s moves so well
Hell yeah, me and my drilling partners would have some of the toughest matches you can have. No one wants to lose to the guy they wrestle every day and iron sharpens iron #fax
This can't be the 90 pounder from the junior high state championships, DT is HUGE. I just watched that and Taylor teched the kid in the finals. For f#&ks sake man... Such outstanding technique.
i love both these guys! watching bo in college i thought nobody could dominate him. then he goes up a level and dt teaches him a lesson that there is yet another higher level he has to train for! the majic man rocks!
@@erichood3169 how do you know he doesn’t have striking experience already if he dose and has wrestling skills of that level he could definitely make the ufc
@@ozguraydn8407 Freestyle is also a very different thing than Folkstyle which is what both Nickal and Nolf dominated in for those 4 years in college and in HS. Freestyle is a different beast in some ways.
Taylor always rises to the occasion. He’s never reckless, but he seems outclass almost everybody he wrestles. If anybody is a fan of wrestling, you have to be a fan of the guy. Magic! 🪄
@@chriskarsseboom2200 For now. Then the next class comes up and takes the older guys spots. It’s like I’ve said it with Zain Retherford, he is a lot of fun for me to watch, he either goes out and gets ran through, which rarely happened in college to him, if ever, but now it’s like which Zain will we see. The aggressive tough Zain that techs opponents in 30 seconds or the one that gets a 10-4 loss like against James Green.
@@zaynes5094 Well, this aged well for Zain. Freestyle is different. Agressive got him roll-throughs that counted against him...2 here 4 there...that weren't points in college. They were scrambles, and nobody was trying to just roll through since it didn't count as points. He also didn't get to put his mat dominance to use. So there is adjustments. Turned out well at Worlds this year.
Bo really shows us how not to lose. Easy to be a good sport when you win. Your real character comes out when you lose. Hopefully Bo can grow up and not leave like a spoiled third grader.
Crazy that this event is happening in Texas, yet Texas has no D1 wrestling programs. You would think Texas would have at least one or two as the B12 has wrestling.
@@tropicalterrarium1742 As a JB fan I agree. I mean given how many time JB beat Dake you'd think Dake would lean eventually. Also, It's dakes time and JB has had his time at the top
@@wergar_the_warwolf6834 Two things - JB always had a huge advantage over Dake because of how the tournament was structured. JB got to skip straight to the finals and Dake had to beat a murdered row (including Taylor) to get there. Also sometimes in wrestling a guy just has your number.
Props to David Taylor. I wonder how often he comes over here and reads the comments? Everytime Bo wins a UFC fight? 😂 I probably would. And did he ever think about MMA? What do you do now David Taylor? Where you from? I know a lot of Taylor's.
@@ItsameAlex not everyone can throw/take punches tho. Alex and Izzy basically fought a kickboxing match with 4 oz gloves but Bo wouldn't wrestle DT in a mma fight
@@ozguraydn8407 True. I do think DT out of all the pro wrestlers we, the US, has he would be one of the greats to become an MMA champion. Randy Couture said that Brock Lesnar was always one of his favorites to train with and fight because he was so freakishly athletic that he always pushed Randy, but Randy said that Brock never really got used to being punched in the face and definitely not in the stomach because he had Gastroenteritis so he was soft in his midsection. Randy said that Brock would've been a much more dominant force in the UFC if he came in when he was younger and trained longer.
Man, it'd be a shame if someone as gifted as Nickal didn't try again. He's got time and MMA seems a waste of talent. So much respect for Taylor though. Certified American Winning Machine. Knows how to come out on top of the toughest challenges.
This will age bad, if he gets to the title in the UFC that will bring more sponsors, viewers and fans to him than he ever would’ve gotten in wrestling and at the end of the day it all comes down to money.
UFC title? Too soon to tell, and probably out of his league. At some point he'll be fed other than cans. Let's see how he deals with a broken jaw or nose. @@2BaSedP0l0Swagq
Taylor’s determination is top notch. Hung in there won ncaa titles, missed Olympic and world spots to dake , burrooughs, and cox. Win gold in Olympic and worlds. True definition of a wrestlers never give up attitude. As great as dake is yet to win an Olympic gold. The level of world class wrestlers in the US is amazing.
I feel like bo just needed to get used to the pacing a bit more I feel like he has great cardio he just needs to apply it better I see him being able to keep the pressure up even through stalemates, he gets back quick he threatens advancement at every turn, I really think he can do it just by putting the pressure on more consistently bc his work rate was more than Taylor was doing Taylor just picked and chose where he wanted to use his energy better, bo coulda done better with positioning for sure, he just again seems unfamiliar with this rule set more than anything
Jordan and David just out experience Bo and Bo's attitude towards it hindered his chances competing at their level of performing against other greats. Because he is just as good.
My boy bo didn’t seem like he wanted it there’s some people that would do a crazy sprint and try to pull something crazy but he just didn’t seem like he wanted it smh
Watching Taylor wrestle you have to wonder how he ever lost to Kyle Dake. These two are in completely different worlds. It was like Taylor wrestled at his level in every match except when wrestling Dake. Nobody can figure that one out.
Bo is no joke. The only time I have ever seen David taylor wrestle poorly was against Kyle Dake. It's like he shuts down and lets Dake wrestle his own match. Taylor is a monster!!!
No, Dake knows how to neutralize Taylor. There's a reason he's beaten him 8 times in a row. Dake wasn't a 4 time ncaa champion in 4 different weight classes for no reason. His accomplishment is even more impressive than Cael's unbeaten collegiate record
Actually he gained weight his sophomore year to avoid 2 wrestlers at 141lbs. Then again his junior year to avoid Frank Molinaro and Dylan Ness. Most people knew he couldn't beat Molinaro a second time. And Dake had ZERO chance against St. John @ 157lbs in 2013 which forced him up to 165lbs. Where were you from 2010-2013??? @@Dpend84
@@gagearmijo4150 I mean, that just shows Bo is only great on a national level. To be the best in the world, you have to be the best on an international level like David Taylor is.
@@H.K.5He lost to David Taylor. Taylor won the Olympic gold medal and a multiple time world champion. Bo didn’t lose to a chump, he lost to the best of the best in the world.
Dake is such a great freestyle wrestler. He has those hips that allow him to pop into any move and elevate his opponent into the air to get those big 4 and 5 point throws. He’s great to watch. But I just have to say that Zahid is my favorite on the world stage. Some of these guys beat him but I love Zahid’s output. He always takes shots off the whistle and he is constantly just dropping to the mat and keeps his opponents all off balance. He can nullify great wrestlers abilities by the amount of shots and fakes he takes. He always puts his opponents on the clock first because it looks like they aren’t doing anything because Zahid is constantly shooting. He’s my favorite.
If David Taylor had the same striking ability and UFC training, he would destroy Nickal....theoretically. DT has been talking about his considerations of fighting in the UFC. His wrestling skills are nearly unmatched and currently top in the world in his weight division, so if he has exceptional striking ability like Nickal appears to have, he would do great in the UFC. It would be best for him and Nickal to avoid each other until they are both at the top. That fight would be a massive ticket. But, if you remember the olden days of the UFC, watching Dan Severn 'The Beast' fight was painful for me even then. He was one of the worst strikers to have ever set foot in the octagon and in my opinion, THE worst to ever be a champion. In today's UFC, you have to be able to strike well, unless you excel in submission. David Taylor has such a high mat IQ, just like Nickal, who seems to flow naturally with his submission holds, I suspect that if he does enter the Octagon, and his managers build him up right, he will be a high probability championship prospect. I have no doubt in Bo Nickal. I really don't even see any way Chimaev stops the onslaught.
Idk why bo acted like that ? That’s his friend.. he should be happy for his friend. No didn’t even wrestle like he wanted to win. That was safe wrestling I know his knee must’ve hurt really bad.. but when you lose in wrestling shake the refs hand, your opps hand & the coaches hand. Smh head bo...
As others have said, DT is on a mission this year...&, I personally really hope he takes Gold @ the Tokyo Olympics...he definitely deserves it! As for Bo--I don't believe he was intentionally disrespecting DT at all when their match concluded...naturally, however, he was extremely disappointed in himself...&, if it's true that he's now going into professional MMA, this may have been his only shot @ the Olympics...as to how well Bo will, or could, do in MMA--I'm not convinced he'll necessarily do so well...he's an elite wrestler, but boxing, BJJ, & Muay Thai skills, at very high levels, are also extremely important for success in MMA
Yea his grappling match was pretty disappointing but less accomplished high level wrestlers like Ed Ruth and Jordan newman have done decent in bellator. If Bo gave himself a few years in the regional scene he could probably make it to the ufc without any hiccups
You do understand the guy he lost to here is the best wrestler in the world at the moment who’s 5-1 against a Olympic gold medalist (not to mention Bo has had closer matches than the gold medalist) right?
@@nrm0051 He's a great striker --was very impressed by his hands in his last outing. I like him, I hope he goes far. He will. UFC will make sure of it.
yes we saw how that worked out for Askren. Literally the most dominant bellator fighter ever. LOL. If you think losing couple times after the age of 36 makes you a shitty fighter, Anderson Silva is worse than Ben askren
@@PetePools David Taylor literally overall is the 2nd best wrestler in the world he regularly embarrasses another Olympic champ who is also a top 10 p4p wrestler in the world that’s like saying Kobe is bad because he can’t beat MJ in a 1v1
