But Tua still had his power and chin the only thing he didn't do was push forward, maybe he would of won or even knock the guy out?? But we will never know cause he didn't put any pressure on the guy.
After watching this I think TUA did a great job.Much respect for him.He did have everything stacked up against him and he took actually very few hits and did not get knocked out.So he did a great job even throu he did not win
Tua are still a champ... even thought he never made it, but he still a champpppp....no matter what cause none of any fighter nock him down that why!!!!!!
That doesn't make you a champ, first of all. And monte Barrett knocked him down legitimately. Hasim Rahman knocked him down after the bell. So even by your standards, which are irrational, he's not champ. And I'm a Tua fan
@@rosenbloom1146 from what I gather he was mismanaged and lost quite but of his career due to that. Maybe that was also the reason why he couldn't keep his weight down to the low 220s, which greatly hindered him, in my book. It's really too bad because he was awesome to watch.
Блин, Туа ему даже до плеча не достает:)) Представляю как бы он смотрелся на фоне самого Коли Валуева)) В пупок дышал бы наверное)) Папаша с сынулькой)))
Yeah this was an INSANE decision by tuas team to take this fight. Ustinov is no mug, and tua performed exactly as he did with lewis. And now to retire? HUH? so many great fights out three he coulda taken. Mansour/charr/povetkin/chagaev/jennings etc - guys around his size. What a stupid decision to fight this monster. I love tua but this is a shameful way to go out
David really needs to work on his slips for taller fighters and he needs a str8 right. Too bad Ustinov didnt want to bang inside or it would have been over for him. Samoa mo Samoa!
Wish Tua let his right hand go more... James Toney right hand is always ready and flies on autopilot as soon as anything touches his right glove... and he lands it almost at will. Tua won't let his hand leave his chin...
Where was the jab to the body? Where was the range-finding? Overhand right? Whoever trained Tua for this fight must absolutely suck! From the first 30 seconds Tua had no workable plan, and stood outside and may as well have been pointing at him coz he wasn't gonna touch him all night long. Love Tua though. Legend.
Tuaman is a severe puncher and Alexander Ustinov knew it-- that's why he held him down immediately after taking that left hand to the face in the third round. Despite his size and reach advantages, Ustinov gave Tua a lot of respect by not fighting aggressively and for good reason -- He didn't want to end up like Oleg Maskaev lol. On a side note, this fight also proved Tua is clueless when it comes to fighting against taller opponents. I don't know why he didn't just bum-rush Ustinov, he had all the potential in the world to knock him out. Sure, he'd eat a couple shots in the process but he has a granite chin, it could have been done --this fight is no different than his fight against Lennox Lewis. All he had to do was bum-rush Alexander and it would've been a wrap --that's what Iron Mike Tyson did when he fought against tall competitors and they ended up on the canvas. Honestly, what was David Tua thinking?
David Tua has never knocked out cold the TRUE big boys (tall AND heavy) such as Lewis, Ike, Rahman, to name a few… His power is definitely a tad overrated. There’s no way that Tua could have bum-rushed and knocked out or even hurt someone like Ustinov, because at the end of the day, size matters at a certain point. You’re talking about David Tua that weighed only 108 kg and was only 5’10, versus a guy that weighed over 150 kg… There’s a 50 KG weight difference.. .Just imagine an average Highschool kid prior to puberty (50KG) versus someone 50KG heavier than them such as David Tua, how do you expect the Highschool kid to “bum rush” David Tua?
i agree. though, i haven't watched the fight. I just hated that lewis kept him at bay with jabs. he should've learned some tyson tricks on how to reach those taller opponents and get in the inside. Good info Youssouf
Was waiting for tua to stab that jab to the body, mixing it up a little. I seen him lunge in with a light jab to the gut and then hook off it,which got him inside, but didn't finish with the right hand!!?? Dont know what goes through tuas mind, but he just wastes too many opportunities, and time. Disapointing.
this is why david tua was not the best and mike tyson is the best, mike tyson knew how to deal with much bigger fighters and will never back down, mike tyson always on the attack to find an opening. This match is nothing to watch and clearly shows that David Tua has problems with big fighters.
Tua has done enough to make him the G O A T in my books but for monsters like Ustinov he needed Joseph Parker tactic against Hughie Fury lunge forward throwing bombs the first 2 or 3 are false punches
GOAT? He’s never been champ. He lost his biggest fights. He can’t use Joseph Parker tactics, Joseph is 6’4” and way taller than David Tua, but David is 250lbs in a 5’10” frame shorter AND heavier than Parker… They’re completely different.
