I really love the ‘informal, 2 friends sitting and having a catch-up’ setting. It really makes us feel a part of your conversation and it’s very endearing. I’m looking forward to many more future guests. 👍
Celebrities... as people. People who react, well or otherwise, like everyone else. I once worked with a dear old Maori fellow, half-Spanish, who worked the clubs in the UK, sang with Sammy Davis Jnr and Shirley Bassey, and did a few movies. His greatest claim to fame, as he said, was that he came between Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor... when pressed, he would admit that, as Antony's captain of the guard, he stood *between Burton and Taylor* on set. Gerry, since departed, was a warm, lovely man who could suddenly Turn It On, double in presence, Shine(!)... and then be humble, quiet and lovely - which is how he described Burton. Not Burton the star, not Burton the voice, but the Burton who, finding the extras playing cards between sheds (and takes), would quietly ask to join in. Gerry had very kind words for the person of Burton, because he saw the person, relaxed with the person. These chats, Rob, give us a glimpse of people. And it's not only fun or lovely or joyous to witness, but it's important to remember that there goes a different 'me', another person, full of personal weirdness and embarrassments. As an actor (tiny in the scheme of things) and as a caricaturist, I love the moments of human grace that I've been privileged to glimpse. Thank you, Rob, for the opportunity of more. How lovely is that? - cheers, Nigel
I really loved you two on big fat quiz! Rob and Dave is one of my all time favorite teams. I still rewatch them frequently and you guys makes me laugh every time! You two are so talented :)
I always wonder this too! The 'professional' content isn't getting anywhere near the realms of some of the stuff I watch. They'll need to start sorting through unsolved murders!
Brilliant. These two just seem to act as the perfect foils and what great stories. Admittedly, Walliams is a little strange but a great writer and a competent actor. What a shame he and Matt Lucas have fallen foul of the Woke Police but we still enjoy their work!
Listen... Rob. I am not sure what industry you're in but you must learn to get the volumes right. I was struggling to hear this guest of yours (can't remember his name, I believe he's a swimmer). Oh, and we are not meant to see the clapper. Do you know anyone in showbiz who could help you? With proper guidance, you may just crack this.
