Filmed in my beautiful home town of Shrewsbury. I remember the filming very well. It's a marvelous film.

This is so wonderful!! I never get to hear Mr. Warner talk about A Christmas Carol! He was always my favorite Cratchit, and it was my favorite adaption of the story!

The crazy part about the 1984 version of A Christmas Carol is that David Warner could have been just as good in the role of Scrooge as Scott was. Warner is one of the best bad guy actors ever. Jack the Ripper in Time After Time, Heydrich in the Holocaust Miniseries, Evil in Time Bandits, Dillinger/Sark/Master Control Program in Tron. Warner would have been an awesome Scrooge.

Hearing that the role he was first offered was Marley, I thought, DUH! Then that he wanted to go against type-LUVIT!!!

I could see him as Marley: "I'd love to go up against you and see what you're made of, Scrooge. I'm going to put you on the game grid!"

It’s amusing they they initially asked him to play Marley’s Ghost, because Frank Finlay who ultimately played that part is a similar actor to Warner in some ways. Warner was wonderful as Cratchit. He says he and George C. Scott played Trivial Pursuit and all the Patton answers were wrong... does he mean Scott got the answers wrong, or the game itself did?

⚫ To this very day, though, I have seen it for countless decades. When I see the disease of aging, and it's ravaging of the physical form. During a relatively short time, and knowing it's NOT impossible to cure. As people are being fooled into believing it can't be. It's very difficult not to be a bit angry at the surrender, and refusal to try.⚫
