Also I don't know who those orientalists are who say the Qur'an isn't translatable or understandable. What are their names and what are their credentials? But if they mean that the Qur'an can be translated in different ways, or that meanings can get lost in translation then yes I agree. That's why we Muslims are strongly advised to learn Arabic. But Arabic is a preserved language, unlike the Hebrew language of the Bible. That's why Biblical scholars refer to the Arabic dictionary to uncover the lost meaning of the Hebrew words to understand the Bible of David Wood!
I don't think you refuted his 2nd point. Your argument against that was poor. You gave an example of man not knowing math formula and saying it's incomprehensible but the one who criticized quran in the 2nd point wasn't equivalent to a man not knowing math because he knew arabic. In the 3rd point I don't think David but rather the particular scholar Ali something is conflicting and contradicting his own statement. I think you were able to refute the 1st point but the last point that David made actually kinda made sense. How can the world for which Islam came access Quran's miracle when majority of it don't speak arabic. Trusting the testimony would make Islam similar to Christianity and any other religion that Islam criticizes.
