Roosevelt House hosts a talk by historian David B. Woolner about his new book, The Last 100 Days: FDR at War and At Peace, an exploration of the drama- and enduring consequence - of the final months of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s life and presidential administration.
Woolner, Senior Fellow and Resident Historian at the Roosevelt Institute and Professor of History at Marist College, will discuss the policies, that despite diminishing energy, FDR pursued in 1945: the United Nations, the reinvigoration of the New Deal, and the possibility of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Woolner will be in conversation with Richard Aldous, author of Schlesinger: The Imperial Historian, and Eugene Meyer Professor of British History and Literature at Bard College.
Welcoming remarks by Bard College Dean of International Studies Jim Ketterer and Roosevelt House Director Harold Holzer.
This event is co-sponsored by The Bard Globalization and International Affairs program.
