Aiye, My first video editing software is DaVinci Resolve. I started using this last year since it is the best free editing software without pirating. I have been editing on a 4th gen i3 laptop with 8GB ram and a 2GB DDR3 Nvidia GPU. You can’t colour grade with a computer under minimum system requirements.
I'm Using Davinci Resolve in my i5 10th gen Laptop with 8GB ram and in Linux (Xubuntu 20.04) OS without SSD. It's great for basic edits. I will list down issues I'm facing with so if anyone sees this can decide to use it or not * * 1. It's good for color grading but when you scale a low res video it's not good as Premier . 2. Few IO delays when u designed a custom animation or transitions. (Maybe because I'm using a regular HDD) . 3. Having some issues when import into x265 encoding. Most of frames got skip at final output. Hope they will fix this . 4. Less libraries to download compare to Adobe Premier . 5. Rendering time is high . Most of these issues may resolve in future updates :) * * * BTW I'm using Dedicated 250MX GPU with proprietary drivers. And this is the only advance video editing software for Linux and also it's free ;)
