Lots of juicy expressions involved in rigging this effect - and you love expressions. Or at least you ought to!

As a "Gentleman of a Certain age" the maths takes some thinking about - Last time I looked at Trig maths we had books of tables! But interesting and beautiful none the less. I love these tutorials, and yes please to the stylising one.

Simon. First rate tutorial brother. I agree with Dot's comment. The math took me back to middle school math class. You made this very easy to follow but how you figured this out is beyond me. I take my hat off to you good sir. Really enjoyed this. I will be doing this tutorial again this afternoon and follow along to help cement how it's done in my mind. Thanks for all the effort you must have gone through to put this together for us. Keep the fusion tut's coming. Thanks again.

I'm starting a new educational channel for kids for my wife... she is a teacher. We are going to produce math and science videos both in English and Italian and are starting with basic solid geometry as it is the topic she is teaching right now. Never before touched a video editing program, but, as I myself am a software developer I thougth video editing and effects would be a piece of cake... what could go wrong after all?🤔 This tutorial saved my life and my sleep: it would have taken me months to learn all these cool concepts by myself with an unfamiliar UI. Thank you very much!

Thank you for sharing this. The math, oh the math, literally blows the lid of mind! Still grappling with understanding half of the expressions. Thanks for the tip on self illuminating 3d objects too. Much appreciated. Thanks again!

Thanks. It’s just basic trigonometry but I’ll let you into a secret ... I’m seriously rubbish at maths and something like this always involves a lot more head-scratching than it ought to do. I reckon if I keep at it though I might eventually get a bit more fluent!

Another brilliant effect and tutorial, Simon. I'd be very interested in a follow up on how you styled it, the materials, textures and specifically the grimey glass. Keep up the great work!

Simon Ubsdell, the Bob Ross of Motion Graphics. Love this tutorial. Fusion looks daunting, but your tutorials always make it approachable. I'd love to see a part 2 with the materials, shading, lighting, etc.

Thank you Simon for sharing your expertise in creating stuff like this. 🙏 Even if the mathematics used in this project is no rocket science, I would have been lost if requested to create it from scratch. Your way to explain and walk through the creative process and the use of very helpful techniques is outstanding. 👍👍👍 Looking forward to the next one explaining all the material, light and renders stuff. Thanks again ❤

If my maths skills can cope, I can assure you that yours are more than equal to the task. I am seriously hopeless ... without Google I’d be totally lost.

WOha that's some big-brain math stuff there! Looks cool - would have also loved to see how you managed to get those final textures.

My math skills aren’t up to making this. But I understand the concepts. Pretty interesting. Unrelated but version 18 added some composite modes or something. I don’t have it in front of me. What are your thoughts on the new additions, are they useful. If so could you go over use case for them.
@SimonUbsdell
@SimonUbsdell Год назад
Yes, I they did add some new blend modes but I can’t remember now what was there before. Did it previously have Color/Luminosity/Saturation/Hue? (I did a recent Patreon tutorial specifically analysing the science and use of these that I can point you to if you are interested.) Certainly Hypotenuse and Geometric are new but I confess I don’t really know what scenarios they are going to be useful for ...
