The Doctor and Davros meet again after Skaro's destruction, and they have a lot to talk about...
The Eighth Doctor shows regret at the Fourth Doctor's decision to not destroy the Daleks in Genesis of the Daleks, continuing the debate that was brought up in that story. This would later be revisited in several other Eighth Doctor audios featuring the Daleks, including Blood of the Daleks, Lucie Miller/To The Death, and Restoration of the Daleks.

Honestly from what I heard from Terror Firma, it sounds as if Davros basically developing dementia. At the very least it feels as if Davros losing his identity, personality, and losing any remaining control over his body. Has parallels to a Dementia sufferer being aware of their deteriorating condition.

Imagine if they brought that back for his reappearance in Stolen Earth. “I thought we destroyed the Dalek emperor.” “You are wrong, Doctor.” **dome opens up, Davros’s head resembles a Kaled mutant**

I have always wondered if this an alternate version of Davis, since journeys end.

What’s funny is that “War of the Daleks” reveals that the Skaro destroyed in “Remembrance of the Daleks” was just a decoy.

War of the Daleks . I really despised that book as a teen & it's one I avoid whenever I do a re-read of the series. Retconning some of the best regarded Dalek stories, from a much loved era, solely because it wasn't too your taste. It's the worst impulse of a classic Who fan pre-revival - to diminish, denigrate and/or wave away the 80's whilst lionising the 60's/70's. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug and Peel suffered from imbibing far too much of it. I mean: Thals vs. Daleks, Daleks having a trial, Daleks were testing Davros not actually trying to kill him, Skaro still exists, Davros looks the same as in Genesis because that Molloy chap was playing a decoy (I'm guessing that in Peel's mind Michael Wisher was back as Davros). An exercise in replaying the hits from his youth without addinganything meaningful to them. And all whilst wallowing in so much continuity even Ian Levine would blush. Thankfully the EDAs got better, and managed to hit highs like Alien Bodies or Seeing I with consistency. Terra Firma is a much, much, much better story by a much better writer - is quite funny to see War of the Daleks brought up beneath such a strong offering by comparison. Though, disclaimer, if you enjoy War of the Daleks - fair play, and I'm sorry for my words! The joy of Who is that what one loves another night dislike. It really is a chocolate box of a show.

@@rayvenkman2087Nu-Who retcons entire eras of Doctor Who whilst replaying the hits of the 60's to mid 70's, with a plot solely designed around removing the bits of Who not to the authors tastes? News to me.

The original Davros is long dead what we see in NuWho is a parallel universe version.

Technically it's a reconstituted version of Classic Davros using aspects of his personality from across the multiverse

But the events of 'Palindrome' and 'Restoration of the Daleks' take place after Davros' supposed death in the jaws of the Nightmare Child, don't they? Meaning the original Davros has already been saved by Dalek Caan at this point, so the Davros seen in the Time War thereafter is actually a second Davros. In short the NuWho Davros is the original.

@@alansunter2383 to be honest, it's not entirely clear. All we know for certain is that Classic Davros and New Who Davros have the same basic timeline of memories, but that New Who Davros may-or-may-not be a separate individual from Classic Davros. Big Finish hasn't actually concluded the story of the amalgamation Davros yet, but for now we're pretty sure that Classic Davros 'dies' and the New Who Davros is the amalgamation version, as it clears up a few inconsistencies in Davros' timeline

@dalekbumps But they explicitly reference the Nightmare Child in the Palindrome story and I'm pretty sure the Dalek Time Strategist says the classic Davros is "lost", i.e. dead- that's gotta be a reference to his supposed death in the jaws of the Nightmare Child.

To be fair neither big finish or the bbc had the budget to make Dalek renders to use at the time, they had to work with what they had.

This all but confirms the fact that the new davros in rtd's 2nd era is possibly a clone
