I’m a fan of slaughter to prevail but I’m 43 so it really has nothing to do with age. I can appreciate different genres why only listen to just one type of music ?

I dunno man I met a dude at Home Depot who had to be 50+, I was wearing my Hypocrisy Osculum Obscenum shirt and I get the “what’s that on your shirt??” and one of the bands he brings up “YOU’LL LOVE THIS ONE BRO, SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL!!!!” I about fell on my ass with that one.

I was at the Brooklyn show for Deicide and yeah that band Inferi also played and I wanted to jump off the Brooklyn bridge. It should be illegal for bands like that to be booked on AAAAAAAAANNNNNYYYYYY show with bands like Krisiun and Deicide. I was sitting there watching this band thinking to myself Dawg would be losing his mind right now lmfao

I work in a hipster area and the amount of shirts I see that look like metal from a distance but are either 'twinkcore', or some trendy clothing brand that rips off metal aesthetics outnumbers actual metal shirts 1000:1

I can enjoy Slaughter to Prevail for what it is, but I agree with you that they are just over hyping the brutality factor to the point were it just becomes cringy to deal with.

I don't know why Slayer gets constantly lumped in with Metallica and Megadeth. Like mainstream Todd knows the lyrics to Altar of Sacrifice. Slayer is still much darker than what the mainstream gravitates towards

@Jdawg just watched the Steve interview. I have been a guitar instructor for 20 years and I do have agree that the guitars on Serpents sounds weak and thin (I think the gain was set too high on the amps and the mid-range was scooped out of the mix) HOWEVER… Serpents is hands down their masterpiece and the songs are so strong and catchy that the shit guitar tone is easily ignored. I really don’t understand why that record doesn’t get more credit for being such a well written album
Saw Deicide and Krisiun last night. Very good show. I missed Cloak. Never heard them. I'll check them out. DAWG, yes, I was just telling my buddy how TERRIBLE that band Inferi was.
Where I bought my tickets had music videos of each band obviously I'm going for Deicide and krisiun cloak was meh but holy f inferi who was horrible! I will definitely be outside when they're playing
I don’t really understand why you assume if people listen to numetal or deathcore or screamo it means that they are clueless about traditional dm. I listen to deicide specially serpents of the light and I listen to deathcore and numetal all types of music. I can wear different band shirts at different times but that doesn’t mean that i don’t like brutal dm cause i do.
Using gay as a derogatory term is literally middle school crap. Bands and artists like The Gerogerigegege, Black Leather Jesus, John Balance, Peter Christopherson, Rozz Williams, etc..etc.. were all gay & made heavier & crazier music than most 80's crap thrash metal. But I wouldn't expect some one wearing a "Deicide" shirt to know shit about those artists or anything noise-related. "Look at me, I call stupid shit gay cause I'm a real macho hetero man!"... And yes Slaughter to Prevail is pathetic weak crap as well.
Calling it gay doesn't necessarily mean they take peepee in the poop chute. "Gay" means happy, as opposed to pissed off, mean, and tough, the way metal should be.
In regards to the taking time off with training... Something that I've found works well is taking a "deload" every 6-8 weeks. After several weeks of training regularly, I'll spend one week where I do my regular routine but only do one set of each and cut the weight in half. It feels super easy but allows connective tissue to catch up and allows my body a rest. When I start again after a week I start with the weight I left off with easily and continue to slowly ramp it up for another 6-8 weeks, then repeat.
The idea of taking a complete week off every once in a while is that you reset your mTOR receptor. mTOR is what prevents your body from getting too big and complete rest desensitizes it.

Cloak is WAAAAY more vanilla than D666 and GotH, but a very decent band. Heard about them from a Decathlon employee who liked my Sodom t-shirt. Almost got to see them this year at Brutal Assault but they played at 10:30am pfffffttt
I can't tolerate most modern black metal outside of the underground war metal scene , late 80s and early 90s bm is where it's at. But Sludge Metal has kept it's nuts intact. Meth Drinker is a prime example

Anything before 1990 is a thrash or heavy metal band.Like possessed, Sodom,death are just thrash metal.Possessed 7 churches is overrated and really sounds terrible.
