@@Joetime90 Sexy commissars are heresy. They're all grizzled, scar covered and wearing heavy armor. Carnal pursuits are unworthy of a faithful servant of the Emperor.
Commissar: Well requisition a new one! APC Gunner: B-but sir that will take weeks! There are none on the planet and no one can train them here, the nearest resupply port is- GUN: *click* APC Gunner: SIR, YES SIR!
I always imagined this combined with Sturnn's voice to account for the age (not like mere age will keep the likes of Yarrick down), and much more importantly the grit.
+Kurt 104 Gameplay-wise, Commissar LORD Bernn's job is to transform basic Guardsmen info utterly terrifying ultramegadeathcommandoes just by being near them. Well maybe that's a bit of an overstatement but seriously the troop-buffs that this guy brings to the table when leveled up enough are nothing short of awe-inspiring. Having a nice handy (haha, pun) power fist doesn't hurt either - unless you're the enemy, that is.
A good Commissar does not hesitate to make an example of those who would desert their duty. A great Commissar inspires such confidence that he never has to.
In Retribution, Commissar Bern is undoubtedly the most powerful hero by a long shot. His invincible ball of glowing Guardsmen can stomp Kyras and his hordes at the cost of a mere dozen guardsmen or less
"I haven't given you leave to die, you coward, ON YOUR FEET!" - Bernn, getting your sorry Spess Mehreen ass to get up off the floor and fight you bloody magpie.
this guy was hilarious in lategame on 3v3 matches, I've seen a lot of ragequits because of his bombardment, 2 manticores and the valkyrie strike global skill
@Aqil Ahmad Except that blocking battalions usually captured men and put them on penal battalions but ehh. Sounds more romantic of shooting retreating troops down.
@Lord Admiral Spire You said it, PENAL BATTALIONS, not regular soldiers and commanders. Commanders were moved into PENALS, usual soldiers just got under a command of someone else.
7:50 - "Its me vs a shred of their god!" You know, you have to give Lord Commissar Bern major credit. The avatar is the equivalent of a Chaos Greater Daemon, towering monstrosities that give, even the Grey Knights and Chapter Masters a run for their money. Then he goes out and challenges it to a one-on-one fistfight.
@@samuellove9619 When you have the reputation like Yarrick that even the Orks fucking respect the hell out of you, yeah, you're going to be admired by all across the galaxy inside the Imperium and outside of it, well maybe except by the more obvious factions such as the Necrons and Tyranids, and the Eldar likely would have foreseen such events happening and aren't amused.
+Jared Stein librarian? this one commisar powerfist already kissed the daemon prince pretty face. librarian is nothing, he can even rip chaos marine squad by himself.
+Frank G They die without fear. A lot can be said of the Commissariat, not all of it good - but let it NEVER be said that its members were lacking in balls-deep valor.
At 10:55 when the music changes, the commissar successively takes on and defeats: 1. some orks 2. A space marine apothecary 3. An entire squad of assault marines 4. A devastator marine 5. A dreadnought 6. A force commander 7. A librarian (who got schooled) 8. A razorback 9. A scout marine 10. A tech marine 11. some more space marines, assault marines, apothecary, devastators, dreadnoughts, a force commander, land raider, librarian, predator tank, razorback, scout squad, tactical marine squad, tech marine and terminators all at once Then they call in an orbital strike .
Fun fact... Daemons are beings of belief. Therefore, the harder you believe that you'll utterly erase a daemon, the more likely it is to happen. Hence why Commissar zealots and the Sisters of Battle are so terrifying and incorruptible.
+MyViolador Except the ones in the first DoW is actually how Commissars are in Warhammer 40,000's fluff. The one in DoW II sounds very forgiving and way too nice.
I like how he says "That Chaos Lord is attacking me!" with so much indignation that the Chaos Lord comes across more like a bother than an actual threat. What a badass.
Just get threw barely holding out against an Ork Onslaught, another gigantic wave approaches... "REJOICE for you have been given a 2nd chance to please your Emperor!" For some reason I always laugh when I hear that...
"If this one must die to push the rest of you, SO BE IT!" *Commissar BLAMs a random Guardsman, the rest of them are now buffed* "You die on MY command, not before!" *Commissar revives the BLAMmed Guardsman by shouting at him, buffs now apply to revived Guardsman too* "Let us show them Imperial might!" *Commissar repeats the process until he has an entire regiment of invincible megaguardsmen literally capable of one-hit-destroying an Imperator Titan by lightly bitch-slapping it* "Nothing can stop you now!" *regiment embarks on a crusade and kills every single enemy of the Imperium* P R O F I T R O F I T
Emperor Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus Glad I’m not the only one. It’s something about the voice and demeanor, a mix between inspiring and threatening, as any commissar should. Kind of like having a drill Sargent in your ear that you don’t absolutely hate.
1:43 - I can just imaging that the guardsmen are doing their morning drills, like runnig around or doing push ups, and the commisar is just right at their side doing the same thing with them and motivating. Commisar LORD Bernn is such a badass.
@@lonecolamarine Nah. Commissar LORD Bernn would take countless free hours to tutor THE SHIT OUT OF LITTLE TIMMY if he wanted it or not to make him one of the best scholars of the Imperium! ...as long as little Timmy would not try to run, becouse... you know :)

"Drive me closer, I want to hit them with my sword" I know it's an ascended meme, but fuck if it doesn't sound exactly like something a commissar would say with the way it's voiced.
Level up Bernn's brain enough and he realizes that shooting enemies in the head to instantly kill even traitor marines is damn inspiring and that leading by example is the best way. If only we could do the same for all commissars.
