Yes! I was about thirty-five years old and watching it with my teen daughters and I was in love with Pacey but at the same time thinking, I'm so glad I can't get my hands on him... It felt so wrong lol
Well she was over a decade younger than her character was and they used makeup to age her accordingly, so now that she is as old as her character was supposed to be back then, she looks far more beautiful!
Please no reboot. Leave it as is, in our memories and in our heart. 6 seasons of pure blist, innoncence and authenticity. wow. Forever a Joey and Pacey fan.
Even to this day, Katie Holmes has more chemistry and connection with Joshua Jackson. Frankly, it was hard to watch Dawson in any romantic relationship because they painted him as so self-centered that all characters were constantly afraid of hurting. The ending was the right decision. Magical!
@@az21bob666 No, they were AFRAID to tell him because they knew he would blow up on them, which he did. He would have blown up on them regardless of when they told him. Dawson was a terrible friend.
he would have been fine, they were not afraid they know it would hurt him but that different but they were coward and they were the bad freind. dawson would never do that, he told pacey about his sister, proven once again he a better freind. and what pacey did was worse he then talk mad shit about dawson and then tried to set his sister up with her EX cheating boyfreind.
@@az21bob666 Dawson would have been hurt and upset regardless because he loved Joey and Pacey was his best friend. However, Pacey should have talked with him before he even pursued Joey. He did this in season 1 at that carnival when Dawson wasn't even into Joey yet. Yet when it actually mattered to discuss it with him because him and Joey not only dated at that point but had dated fairly recently, Pacey who normally has balls doesn't. Even after his brother tells him to do this. Everyone acts like Dawson was a dick in how he handled it but he had seriously matured at this point. And people excuse Pacey's choice because they like Joey and Pacey together. Yet Pacey sleeps with a teacher. He gets a pass. Pacey is told by Andy her fantasy for losing her virginity, he wastes no time executing it, and when they finally do it writes her a note about it, and he gets a pass. Pacey goes after his best friend's ex (a major ex) and he gets a pass. Pacey is a dick to Joey at prom. He gets a pass. Pacey sleeps with married woman. He gets a pass. Dawson's screws up, he is a spoiled and immature brat. Dawson was immature when he dated Jen. After that he did mature. He had a few bratty moments, but overall matured. Watch it again. Joey was the immature one all along. Total nightmare to Jen. She finally gets Dawson then does a 180 on him. He gets really mad and upset about his mom for cheating on his father and Joey ridicules him for it. Uhmm really? The boy had every right to be upset. She dates Jack. Then crawls back to Dawson. Her dad screws up and Dawson gets blamed. Dawson starts looking at Eve and Joey can't stand Dawson isn't paying attention to her again so she throws herself at him. I like Pacey and Joey together. Dawson deserved better than Joey who was nothing but manipulative towards him. I always say, "you can't help who you fall for, but you can help what you do about it." Joey and Pacey spent a lot of time together so I don't blame them for falling for one another. They couldn't help that. How they handled it... regardless of how people think Dawson would have reacted was still wrong.
a few thinks, people forget that joey told dawson at the END of season 2 she never wanted to see him again then he back for a few days she never really tries to see him, ONLY when she see him with eve does she break into his room. he even tell her how hurt he is, he told pacey how hurt he is. but he still loves her. people also for get jen and pacey, they had a sex pact, pacey BREAK into dawson room to have sex with jen, NEVER told him. Then he find out pacey dating joey, again never tell him, and people act like dawson was in the wrong, to dawson since he does not see what see, he assume this is just pacey looking for sex or a fling. but dawson seem to get blame for everyone, on reddit a guy just said dawson a loser becouse he cried over joey. that sad that people think like that. ps i been downvoted like a 100 time for saying anything bad about pacey.
@@paulhayhurst the oc got screwed up bc of the actress who played marissa who wanted to leave. Oth got worse and worse thoughout the seasons - the last 3 were unbearable. Idk...
@@capsulamental I'm the same way. I am 33 and I can't relate anymore to Dawson's Creek the way I used to lol It's a teen drama show. If theres any kind of reboot which there sooo could be I'd want there lives to just pick up where they left off. With a flashback to get us up to date & then keep going with the present/future. There's no need to redo the whole show but instead turn pages from where they left off. The show was about life that's where I could get back into it. Now i just smile and laugh because I was so into this show & I find it drags on for far too long & they over talk way too much. 🤣🤷🏼♀️
I loved this show so much! Sad that they didn't cover Andy's mental health struggles in the reunion because I think it was ahead of it's time with that storyline and Meredith played it so well I thought.
@@braveorslave but they do happen, it's called a psychotic episode, I know someone who had it happen to them, not exactly liked that but ya know, also she took pills and went to a mental facility so yeah, I think she had a diagnosis, coz those are hard to come by without one.
@@braveorslave That happened when she mixed her meds with some street drug {I don't remember what) Jen had tho, right? Some drugs can trigger psychotics episodes with visual and auditory hallucinations even if you don't have an underlying condition and are not on other meds, ask my clone I had a very pleasant conversation with in high school. Her dad and brother knew of her illness and she was on meds, so she was most likely diagnosed: some Freudian trained psychs/psychotherapists prefer to avoid giving the condition a name, as they consider it only an approximative tool for doctors and detrimental to the patient's journey, but that approach is not common in the States I believe.
Everyone shipping Joey and Pacey meanwhile I’m appreciating Jack and Jen’s friendship. I wish she never died their relationship was the best of the show
Aw, Michelle coming in and telling Kerr how meaningful their TV relationship was to fans, was just so endearing and amazing. I love how in spite of their myriad successes as actors, they still have that bond.
@@avtgomez agree. When James called Dawson annoying right off the jump of the interview I thought well, this is awkward. They could have cut that one out.
Jack's storyline prompted me to come out to my parents and suddenly a massive weight I hadn't realised I'd been carrying was lifted and none of the horrors I'd convinced myself would happen if I admitted who I was to myself and those closest to me happened. I could finally breathe and feel comfortable in my own skin. Thank you, Jack.
I always wonder how many stories like this are out there (thank God they are) because of movies and TV. Actors playing LGBTQ youth especially have such a responsibility that may be unfair, but is totally necessary especially 10-20 years ago. I think about how often straight kids are reinforced that they are "right" they are "correct" and we are just now getting to a place we're characters are just people, who happen to be gay vs a "gay character". Hope that makes sense. Love to see this story. Love to see it helped. Love to see people loving their best life.
This show was so ahead of its time. Like keeping in mind that this show came out in the 90s, it did a very remarkable job covering issues that most media didn’t cover during this era.
I Loved her dress! It is not only beautiful, it suits her perfectly! In fact I was looking for a moment where I can see her in a full stand up view, but there isn't any 🥺
Joey's house was filmed where I lived. It was an exciting time on Pine in Wilmington. We moved into the back room while they turned the rest of the house into their set. Certainly a very special time in my life.
@@williamyelton2227 yes for me too. I have followed "joey" all these years. Hard to believe so many years have passed by. Wilmington holds a special place in my heart. My husband and I took their little boat and motor and went up Dawson's creek sightseeing. So many good times. Now all is gone.
Awww Joshua Jackson will forever be the love of my life, I loved this show. I taped every episode and til this day have all seasons in my dvd collection
I love how it was a running joke for the entire series run that Doug, Pacey's older brother, was closeted - and finally in the last ever 2 part finale, it was confirmed that he was gay because he and Jack were in a relationship. I loved that!
I just watched Dawson's Creek on Netflix and I finished it yesterday. Holy cow I was missing out on such an amazing show back then! All the characters were so true & I absolutely cried like a baby on the two part series finale, LOVE it!
I remember wanting Dawson and Joey to be together more than anything. I disregarded everyone else and only focused on them two finally dating. But then out of nowhere Pacey kissed Joey and I was like... why don't I hate this 💀 and then I remember falling in love with Pacey instantly 😂
I just found this series a few months ago and I fell in love with the cast. I binged watched all six seasons on Netflix. 😍 20 years later they still look good. Shout out Grams she is slaying 😍😍
Mary Beth Peil looks utterly ethereal. If I live that long, I hope I age even half as gracefully as she has. Easily the most gorgeous one in that room.
I watched the whole series and waited with held breath to see who Joey would end up with on the final episode. Being a Pacey Fan, I was hoping it would be Pacey and when it was....I screamed and smiled and cried! Now, all this time later, when I go back into Hulu or pull out my DVD collection of Dawson's Creek, I always go to seasons 3. When I am wanting to feel true love scripted into the perfect words, I go to the final episode with Pacey and Joey in his restaurant kitchen and him telling her he was releasing her and that loving her was enough. Omg! Perfection!! Thank you Kevin for giving us Pacey and showing the world what a perfect man, with all his imperfections, looked like! ❤
The first 4 seasons of Dawson’s Creek might be the best show of all time. I learned how to articulate myself from Dawson. Learned to be attentive to women from Pacey. I got into Pop music because of this show. My bro’s got a kick out of me loving this show so much, but i honestly learned a lot from it. Classic.
Me to man, I used to be so bored during summer break in my 8 to 14 age and this show I would always see on, I got hooked instantly and what a great show it was
I was proud of Dawson when he finally pushed Joey towards Pacey - very mature despite the quip about knowing it would be a "colossal mistake " I always have thought and said that Dawson is Joey's soulmate but Pacey is the love of her life ❤
Dawson is not her soulmate. She shatered him, Joey was super toxic as friend or lover with both Dawson and Peacy. I'm glad my man ended happy but Joey was terrible
@@mollybloblue7891 I'm just now watching it again and Joey was a player, and she really was playing games with my man Dawson. I was a Dawson Fan from the beginning with him and Joey; until I fell to realize how she started playing games man🤦🏾♀️☹️. I'm starting to want to change my vote for Pacey now, but I don't know with Joey though just wanting to be just a Pacey fan 🤔🤨😊, by himself. What's funny is that Joshua is now, in real life is with this beautiful black African American woman with a baby girl now(whose do cute, and mixed, but still cute)👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾, good for you Joshua Jackson, I'm proud of you.
I didn't really follow the show when it aired, just watched the re-runs of it years later and Joey & Pacey were always going to be 'it' for me, they were perfect together -and honestly Dawson and Joey didn't have that kind of chemistry. Jen & Jack were my second favorite, their bond was something wonderful that I loved (and yes, I bawled my eyes out in the last episode and I still do). Btw, Joshua Jackson is still looking mighty fine as he was back in the days!
'Dawson's Creek' is like a favourite book; I watch it all every few years - takes me about two or three months - and every time I fall in love with it all over again. It feeds my soul; I always come away with a new perspective on the show and ultimately my own life and the world. Last watch was about 2017. Almost due another showing. 🌟💜
i was 13 when this aired & was 19 when it finished...I grew up with Dawson's creek, I loved it & still do... still cry when i see the ending...This show will always hold a special place in my heart
Season 3 was A-MAZING and is still my favorite--that whole storyline with Joey and Pacey was so well-written and their chemistry was insane. I was ecstatic when Joey and Pacey got together and I was livid when they broke up at the end of season 4. I stopped watching the show, lol. Oddly enough that's when the ratings dipped. Coincidence? Who knows, lol. I've seen a few episodes from those seasons (namely the episodes with Joey and Pacey) but for the most part I quit watching until the series finale. At the end when you see she's with Pacey I literally screamed! I was SO happy. Dawson was her soulmate but Pacey was her true love 💖💖💖
I would have loved to see more of the Joey and Jen friendship. It felt like it was always this fight over Dawson but I think they’re friendship could have been Moore explored. Love the show. Such memories ❤️
They were the kindest and most down-to-earth teens I "knew" back then. The interview showed me exactly why it makes sense that I adored the show in my teens. They were my Creek... in a place with little light. THANK YOU, creators.
They are sweet and the characters too. But I can't help but laugh when I think of Cat's dad in 10 things I hate about you, saying that he doesn't want his daughter to turn out like one of those Creek kids WAHAHAHAHA.
Everytime I watch Dawson's Creek, it's like I'm on holidays. It makes me feel so peaceful and my heart gets full. I was only 8 when I first watched this show, best time of my life ♥️

@@lorenhil2448 my feelings when I watched it again last year was that I've found a part of me I don't want to lose anymore. And yes, it is my confort show and I love this feeling. ❤️
Thank god it didn’t end with Joey and Dawson. Pacey deserved the ending he got. Throughout the series he loved Joey like crazy, even back to season 1. And he went through hell and back with his family, with Joey, and with feeling empty in his life. Dawson never seemed to care for her the way he did. Although he did love her but I always felt like it was more of a friend bond. Plus Katie and Josh’s chemistry helped propel that relationship.
Yes! I think at the begining they where so younge so they didnt knew that kind of strong love was a friends love, so that confuse dawson and joey to the point they thought they were in love when they didnt
@@karismalovesglitter yes! And the fact that when they broke up or she was going in a different direction he didn’t pull the crap Dawson always did (getting angry, kicking the ladder off his roof, resorting to “competition” tendencies, and giving her ultimatums) instead he stayed supportive and rational and pushed her to be the best person she could. And he also accepted that she should be happy... no matter who it was with. That was important to him. He always put her first, and it was completely selfless. That’s why he was always better.
I was so mad when Joey broke up with Pacey the first time! Dawson as a character started great, but lost its greatness during the seasons. I was so into Pacey, I even started wearing his short pants (bermudas). Katie Holmes was so beautiful, watching her as Joey makes my heart tick even now, twenty years later. Thanks EW for this video and the dose of nostalgia, for days long gone
Didn’t he dump her first tho cause he thought she wasn’t good enough for him and even though she tried to tell him that she loved him he kept pushing her away???
I knew it was going to be Pacey, first off she lost her virginity to him, secondly she chose him the first time there was a choice even when she thought she would lose Dawson. Also Pacey never put boundaries or expectations on her that were based of a figment of his imagination
Her and Dawson were toxic together and if you rewatch, it's more her than Dawson that makes it that way. She pines over Dawson, meanwhile insulting and degrading him for being in a relationship with Jen. And we all know how she repeatedly treated Jen. Then Dawson finally "sees her" and she constantly critiques everything she says. He calls her new interest a hobby and she lashes out like he should know that something she never expressed interest in before is more than a hobby. He makes effort constantly and she pushes back. Then breaks up with him. He is not allowed to screw up. He is never allowed to be upset. In Season 1 he learns his mom is cheating and she makes him feel like sh*t for being upset at his mom. They get back together at the end of Season 2 and her dad screws up, Dawson is somehow the bad guy. She is awful towards him. He leaves town, comes back, starts paying attention to Eve and now Joey is throwing herself at him. He turns her down and again is made to be the bad guy. She is in a vulnerable state so he asks Pacey to keep an eye out for her because he can't. Which the way she treats him, he was right. Pacey knows what Joey means to Dawson and she knows. Yet instead of being up front with Dawson like any good friend should have been they choose not. Yes he would have still been hurt, but he couldn't have felt so betrayed. And he has a right to be hurt and angry. But once again Dawson is made to be the bad guy because Joey and Pacey screwed up. Dawson has some moments that are irritable. But if you go back and watch Joey has a lot to do with it. And she is actually pretty awful. As for Pacey... he makes some pretty crappy choices. Sleeps with teacher. Bullies brother for being gay. Calls Dawson an Oompa Loompa even after Dawson tells him how those words make him feel. Yet somehow it gets turned around on Dawson for being a jerk. He isn't allowed to have insecurities. He goes to a dance with Andy, refuses to dance with her then ends up dancing with someone else. Andy tells him her fantasy for losing her virginity and he immediately makes arrangements. Throws a party with dancers at Dawson's house. Encourages Dawson to get some with Eve. Treats Joey like trash at prom. Sleeps with married woman. Yet for whatever reason people always throw Dawson shade and put Joey and Pacey on pedestals.
yep i agree pacey mess up so much, what said about the andy thing is not that he tries to sleep with her, his note sex changes everything look if you sleep with a girl and it first time, i hope you at least planning to be there for her, he fight with joey more after he sleep with her to. BUT dawson is to blame for everything, it like how onfair is that. sometime joey like i dont want dawson but i dont want anyone else to have it.
@@siobanethier yeah she told some publication back in the day that her celeb crush was tom cruise. they ran with that for a while when they got married.
My childhood couldn't have existed without this show. Cue me and my friends Wednesday night, on the phone, with our electronic pocket dictionaries, and talking like college freshmans from the Creek the next day with our $20 words at recess. great memories!
I remember James at 15. Dang I have not thought of that in forever. Joshua is a good actor and really imo made the show. He was great in Fringe too. Jen’s story was just so heartbreaking and really is truly a bittersweet story. The show just breaks your heart with that. Grams was truly a wonderful character. She also gave that group a good grounding to grow up.
This was in 2017. Joshua wasn't involved with his wife yet. Just look at his face, body language, etc. The connection him and Katie still share is mesmerizing. Their characters were endgame. And, I deep down still have some tiny hope one day they'll be together again.
"season 3 was the first time we saw a glimmer of chemistry between Pacey and Joey" me: no! The first time was in the first episode! Enemies to lovers, duh!
I love that EW does these reunions. They've done this with a number of shows I've loved and I always enjoy both the pictures and the interviews. it's just nice to see old friends again.
Is it me or did anyone feel underwhelmed by this? I thought it was going to be the cast talking a majority of the time but that part was minor. It was similar to a True E Hollywood story like documentary lol
My mum actually shown me this show when I was about 13-14 myself in 2014. I was so in love with it even then and was so happy that my mum introduced me to such an old treasure
Watching the show again on Netflix and stunned by how many great actors made their debut on the show, amazing!!! I am so happy to see grams, she evolved in the best ways.
Thanks for the stroll down memory lane, EW 💜 I was 15 years old when that show came out and I felt like it was telling my story- I was Joey, through and through! This put a huge smile on my face just reminiscing about my teenage years and how Dawson’s Creek helped me get through some of the most awkward years of my life 😊
I love Dawson’s creek . I discovered it later In life and was always drawn to its authentic message about the bonds of friendship . Some friends relationships change over time , some people come thru your life and just pass thru leaving traces footprints and others remain forever as constants your true friends . In a very authentic and real way besides it’s many romantic relationships within the show it was truly a love story of a group of friends in the end and that was what I loved about it that was why the ending of the show even though it was so heartbreaking was so powerful . Don’t get me wrong I love PJ I feel grateful we got to see that relationship because it was truly special due to josh and Kate’s natural chemistry and love for one another but it was just a piece of the show . I loved the show because it was so easy to love so many of the relationships not just one .
So this show premiered 2 months before my 5th birthday and ended just after I turned 10 so I was too young to watch it. But then when I was in middle school entering high school, I started watching it and I felt like I was growing up with them as the next generation of kids watching the show. This show was everything to me because of the writing. Gilmore Girls didnt start airing until 2 years after Dawson's and so Dawson's Creek was really the only Teen Soap with that level of speed and vocabulary and pop culture references. This show besides Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill which aired the same year that Dawsons ended, was one of the reason I got into books, and reading and music. I too cried so often whilst I watched it growing up and still to this at at 28 years old at the same scenes in the same episodes. The series finale gets me each time at the same spot. When Jen is making the tape for her daughter, Amy. I have always been a HUGE fan of Joey and Pacey right from the start so when they got together in season 3, it made me so happy. Its my favourite season even after all these years. This show is Timeless because just like many shows back the, it grabs a different audience in a new era. I hope to show my children this show because its one of my favourites and I want them to feel the same "warm and fuzzies" as Meredith puts it. haha
This was really good...I never watched this show...but I'm familiar with all the actors...and the way they presented this reunion makes me feel like I watched the whole show...great job!
I was a college freshman when Dawson's Creek premiered. Jack's coming out was groundbreaking, moving, shocking, and real. All us boys who were gay and who hid it really connected with Jack. It was such an impactful moment. I had never seen that on screen.
I remember I stopped watching it after season 4 when they broke up pacey and Joey 😂 I remember being heartbroken 💔. It wasn’t until years later when I brought the box set that I finally watched the last two seasons. Cried my eyes out at the end so happy Pacey and joey ended up together 🥰
seasoon 5 is so bad for Pacey and Joey shipper. They act like Joey and Pacey never happened and were trying to reset everything for Dawson and Joey ending.
It’s *SO CRAZY* that @Vanderbeek is currently older than “his dad” was on the show. _It makes me feel old_ and I can taste the #MembaBerries of my own teenage years as I see them together. This was a fun reunion❣️❣️❣️
I had a girl in high school, when I arrived as the new kid... She adored me, & this show. And I adored rock n roll, & her best friend. And now, she's extraordinarily successful, ironically enough, in North Carolina. And while my life took some very dramatic & unwanted turns, like losing my 'Missus' in a car accident, or becoming addicted to opioids... Today, I'm sober. I'm working through the loss of my Sarah, & for the first time in a long time... Things are looking up again. And back when I actually watched this show in my mid-20s, because I was in love w/Katie Holmes, it was actually a very well done show. I see why she loved it. I hope she's doing well.
This wasn't just a show, it was THE show of the late 90s. Completely era-defining. Glad this is finally released in its entirety instead of a few 2 minute clips. HOWEVER....... Everyone should also watch Mary-Margaret Humes (Gale, Dawson's mom) interview AFTER this aired originally, where she explains her feelings about her and Dawson's dad NOT being call to do this reunion. That's just weird. They were an integral part of the series.
Wonder why Dawson's parents were not included? The reunion didn't seem complete without them. It would have been great to see the whole original cast there from the first two seasons.
@@autumnleaves-77 My only guess would be that after the contentious way the dad left the show (apparently he was at an impasse with the writers about his storyline for Season 5), the team didn't want to have him be a part of it, and then by extension the mom can't either.
@@matthewf5668 Yes that seems to be the logical answer. I didn't like the storyline where Mitch has the car accident, it seemed to be a quick exit for that character. But the following episode where he comes back to say goodbye to each of the characters was delightful.
I was 20 when the show started. Love it so much and grew up with it as did most to all of you. I do from time to time like to go back to all the wonderful memories of Dawson's Creek.
I never really noticed it before but I can actually see a lot of Kevin Williamson in Kerr Smith! Even physically... well, in Jack - dang it, you know what I mean!!
